  • The study will focus on monitoring defects and finding out the nature of these defects. Bulk GaN was irradiated by a 2 MeV electron beam at a fluence of 5×1016 cm2 and studied by deep-level transient spectroscopy (DLTS). After irradiation, a broad peak, including at least two traps, was detected. The trap D1 (EC −0.16 eV) observed from a broad peak is induced during the annealing process below 550K and completely annealed out at 550K after 10 hours.

  • The ion fluence induced swelling was found to be different with different ions depending on irradiation parameters. By converting the ion fluence to displacement per atom (dpa), the critical dpa for swelling was determined to be about 0.04 dpa, corresponds deposited energy of 2eV/atom.

  • The study "Estimation of the electrical characteristics of PIN diode after Proton-Irradiated based on Monte carlo code" describes the correlation between radiation damages and electrical properties of the PIN diode after irradiation of the energy proton. The findings show that the penetration of protons into the PN diode leads to lattice defects in the form of vacancies, defect clusters, and dislocations.

  • The aim of the present study was extended from obtaining information about the interaction of gamma rays with Makrofol DE 7-2 track detector to introduce the basis that can be used in concerning simple sensor for gamma irradiation and bio-engineering applications. Makrofol polymer samples were irradiated with 1.25 MeV 60Co gamma radiations at doses ranging from 20 to 1000 kG y. The modifications of irradiated samples so induced were analyzed using UV–vis spectrometry, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and the measurements of Vickers’ hardness.

  • The tensile strength of irradiated 3C-SiC, SiC with artificial point defects, SiC with symmetric tilt grain boundaries (GBs), irradiated SiC with GBs are investigated using molecular dynamics simulations at 300 K. For an irradiated SiC sample, the tensile strength decreases with the increase of irradiation dose. The Young's modulus decreases with the increase of irradiation dose which agrees well with experiment and simulation data.

Unlike teleradiotherapy provided by X-ray linear accelerator, brachytherapy utilizes radiation source placing inside or close to the target.
