Cancer is a disease in which abnormal cells grow uncontrollably and invade other tissues. Several types of cancer have various subtypes with different clinical and biological implications. Based on these differences, treatment methods need to be customized. The identification of distinct cancer subtypes is an important problem in bioinformatics, since it can guide future precision medicine applications. In order to design targeted treatments, bioinformatics methods attempt to discover common molecular pathology of different cancer subtypes.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a rare mesenchymal tumor that involves various organs. Surgery is the mainstay of therapy for this tumor. Approximately half of all IMT cases have anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangements; therefore, the ALK inhibitor crizotinib is suggested as a promising treatment for unresectable cases with ALK rearrangements. In cases withoutALK rearrangement, chemotherapy is an alternative treatment for unresectable tumors.

The patient, a 22-year-old female, was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (an aggressive non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma). The patient had completed 6 cycles of R-CHOP (from March 2018 to July 2018). After that, the patient was re-examined regularly monthly (manifested with moderate and hypochromic anemia, bone marrow aspiration was negative for malignancy). In November 2019, the complete blood cell (CBC) findings were as follows: White blood cell (WBC) count 81 x109 /liter, neutrophils 7%, lymphocytes 22%, monocytes 2%, blasts 69%; red blood cell count 2.6 x 106 /ml, hemoglobin 7.

Critical aortic stenosis (AS) is the single most problematic valvular disease we encounter in the ICU. Patients with critical AS have a fixed cardiac output and cannot meaningfully increase cardiac output to meet the physiologic demands of critical illness. In this article, we present the case of a 53-year-old man with severe AS and pulmonary hypertension who developed hypotension during waiting for an elective aortic valve replacement. We discuss practical considerations and emergent treatment for the hemodynamically unstable patient with critical AS.

This is initially report of autologous stem cell transpant for high risk neuroblastoma. Even only two patients, the results showed that stem cell transplant was safe and effective. We are continuing to implement for more case with high risk neuroblastoma and will have better report with a bigger number.

Biliary obstruction is a serious clinical condition resulting from either benign or malignant etiologies. For malignant obstruction, curative resection is rarely performed due to disease progression, thus decompression drainage is the management of choice. Percutaneous transhepatic drainage and stenting are effective alternative treatments to surgical bypass and endoscopic biliary drainage when these two modalities are contraindicated.

How to perform a breaking bad news consultation properly with the present circumstances and especially it fits the local people. The way to deliver bad news to cancer patients was studied and practiced widely in the world. Some studies were conducted in Vietnam but not yet in central Vietnam. The people here are quite different in thinking and personality. Hence, they may need and expect consultation differently. The study was performed to note the needs of patients in the breaking bad news of cancer and to explore their own experience of giving bad news.
