  • The present study was undertaken to observe the response of Kinnow Mandarin to different forms of growth regulators and nutrients. The result of investigation indicates that fruit length and diameter were found maximum with the foliar application of K2SO4 2%, shape index and ascorbic acid were found maximum with the foliar application of 2, 4-D 20 ppm, peel thickness, acidity, peel content were recorded minimum and juice content and TSS were recorded maximum with the foliar application 2, 4-D 10 ppm, while rag content was found maximum with the application of GA3 20 ppm.

  • Tomatoes Juice Agar: an alternative media for the cultivation of some Aspergillus species was investigated. The aim of this study was to determine the efficacy of TJA to cultivate Aspergillus species. Tomato juice agar (TJA) was prepared by combining filtrate of tomatoes, glucose powder and nutrient agar for the cultivation of some Aspergillus species. Phytochemical and proximate composition of the TJ filtrate was also determined. The TJA was suitable for the growth of Aspergillus niger, Asprgillus flavus and Aspergillus fumigatus.

  • The present study was aimed at evaluating the fertility status of mosambi orchards at Jamsar and Lunkaransar series of Bikaner district in irrigated area of arid Rajasthan. All mosambi orchards soils were found alkaline to saline in nature, EC2of all the orchard soil samples was normal. The CaCO3 content in soils showed increasing trend with depth, low in organic carbon and available N, Low to medium in available P2O5, Medium to high in available K2O content, Majority of samples were found low in available Fe and Zn content, low to sufficient in available Cu and high in available Mn content.

  • A field experiment was conducted during 2014-15 to study the impact of continuous application of organic manures and inorganic fertilizers on cane yield, jaggery yield, quality of sugarcane and soil fertility status after harvest at Agricultural Research Station, Perumallapalle, ANGRAU. The experiment consisted of two treatments i.e. organic and inorganic treatments.   • Khasi Mandarin (Citrus reticulata Blanco.) is one of the most widely cultivated and important commercial fruit crop of North East India. A survey was conducted in Mandarin orchards from three district of Manipur viz., Tamenglong, Bishnupur and Noney during 2018 to study the present status of Khasi Mandarin in Manipur with growth, yield and quality parameters. The Mandarin fruits were evaluated morphologically and biochemically for different parameters. It was observed that all the three district of Manipur was found to have Khasi Mandarin in the orchards but it was gradually declined.

  • Coconut inflorescence sap or neera is a sweet translucent juice extracted from unopened inflorescence of coconut, which is oyster white in colour with high nutritive value. Studies revealed that sap yield and quality differed with respect to coconut genotypes and season. Hence a study was carried out to find out the influence of genotypes and season on coconut inflorescence sap yield and quality. The results revealed that the coconut genotypes varied significantly with respect to yield of coconut inflorescence sap.

  • A field experiment was conducted at Main Experiment Station, Department of Horticulture, NDUAT, Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P.). Pruning of Phalsa at 50 cm above ground level combined with ZnSO₄ 0.4% increased number of shoot and fruiting nodes closely followed by Urea 2% and K₂ SO₄ 0.2% with pruning at 50 cm above ground level. Better response was obtained with fruit yield attributing attributes also. The fruit quality in terms of TSS, acidity, ascorbic acid content, juice percent and sugar content were better with ZnSO4 0.

  • Wheatgrass at young green stage is a powerhouse of nutrients and phytochemicals. With an aim to develop wheatgrass enriched health foods, Wheatgrass juice (WGJ) and wheatgrass powder (WGP) were incorporated in milk and meat products, respectively. WGJ (1:2 ratio of wheatgrass: water) was incorporated at 3, 6 and 9% in milk to formulate green milk, green paneer and enrobe paneer.
