Karyological features

Scorzonera ketzkhovelii Grossh. (Asteraceae) was recently collected from Yusufeli, Artvin (north-east Anatolia) and it has been reported as a new species record for the flora of Turkey. It is described and illustrated. In addition, its karyological features and pollen morphology are given.

Bellevalia malatyaensis Uzunh. & H.Duman is described and illustrated as a new species from East Anatolia. The distribution area of this species is restricted to Erkenek (Malatya)–Gölbaşı (Adıyaman). It grows in open areas of Pinus brutia Ten. forest. It resembles Bellevalia gracilis Feinbrun, but differs in scapose habitus, leaves, and characters of the capsule.

The purpose of this study was to determine chromosome numbers and karyological features of six Dianthus taxa belonging to section Verruculosi from Anatolia, Turkey. The chromosome numbers were determined as 2n = 30 in all taxa.
