Bac Ninh is a province with a dense network of windows from 1.0 -1.2 km/km2 with large river systems flowing through Duong River, Cau River, Thai Binh River and the downstream part of Ca Lo River. With a dense river system and abundant surface water saving, the province’s irrigation plays a particularly important role in water harvesting, drainage and flood prevention in the province. Over the years, the province has focused resources to invest in the development of irrigation infrastructure.

In the research "Utilization of borehole data for correlation system of strata: A case study of Hanoi, Vietnam" the actual data of the investigation where the system was put into practice in order to estimate the subsurface structure of an area of approximately 7 km in length and 7 km in width in the city of Hanoi, using 275 borehole data, will be provided. In the stratigraphic comparison, the names of the Vietnamese soil types correspond to the Japanese soil types.

The paper "The role of orographic effects on heavy rainfall event over central Vietnam in October 2021" use observation data and high-resolution (3 km) simulations from the WRF model, driven by FNL data, to investigate the causes of heavy rain over Central Vietnam from 22nd to 29th October 2021. Our findings confirm the significant role of topography in causing heavy rain. In terms of the atmosphere’s vertical structure, the surface’s northeast wind, almost perpendicular to the Central region’s topography, combined with the east wind and trade winds above, caused strong convection.

Building knowledge management (KM) infrastructure involves reuse and refocus of several existing infrastructure components, and awareness around future visions and conditions of infrastructure. We present a community perspective using a staircase metaphor for conceptualizing government supported KM infrastructure and services. Additionally we illustrate a model for government’s role in providing and leveraging infrastructure components from all tiers of government.

The main objective of this paper is to investigate and identify the main determinants of successful knowledge management (KM) programs. We draw upon the institutional theory and the theory of technology assimilation to develop an integrative model of KM success that clarifies the role of information technology (IT) in relation to other important KM infrastructural capabilities and to KM process capabilities. We argue that the role of IT cannot be studied in isolation and that the effect of IT on KM success is fully mediated by KM process capabilities.

According to legislation introduced in 2001, Switzerland is already paying to install low-noise systems in its national railway vehicles. Vehicles fi tted with noise-reducing technologies are refunded 0.01 CHF per axle kilometre travelled in Switzerland. This translates into a €7.50 bonus for a typical four-axle wagon on the 300 km Basel-Chiasso line, an important link in the Germany- Italy transit route. A complete freight train with composite brake blocks gets a €93 refund, which is 5% of the total track access charge.
