Knowledge level of recommended package

The present study was conducted in one horticultural zone of district Budgam namely Chareshareef to measure the adoption levels of pear growers. Six villages were selected randomly from the zone and 120 growers were randomly selected by using proportionate sampling technique for the study.

The study was conducted in Gulbarga district of North Karnataka. 66.60 per cent of the respondents were observed with medium level of knowledge on cultivation practices in dryland areas of Karnataka. The present study was undertaken in year 2014 and 2015 to study the factors affecting adoption of Maize cultivation practices in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. There were 160 Gram panchayats, 385 villages and 4 towns viz. Rajouri, Thanamandi, Nowshera and Sunderbani. The district constitutes 8.81 percent of the geographical area of the state. There are 7 revenue tehsils viz; Rajouri, Thanamandi, Nowshera, Sunderbani, Budhal and Darhal with a total of 9 revenue blocks in district Rajouri.

The non-availability of a standardized scale to measure the farmers‟ knowledge level influenced the researchers to construct a test for measuring the knowledge on recommended tomato production package of practices. Pertinent items were collected covering all aspects from the crop production guide developed by the Department of Horticulture, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. After getting jury opinion on the items, test index of item difficulty, index of item discrimination and point biserial correlation for the items were worked out. All these were taken in to account to arrive at the final scale.

The study was conducted in Andhra Pradesh state during 2017-18. A total of 120 Bt cotton tenant farmers were selected randomly for the study. Data was collected with interview schedule. To study the nature of the relationship between the profile characteristics and knowledge level of Bt cotton tenant farmers, correlation coefficients (r) was computed and the values were presented in Table 1. The relationship between the profile and knowledge level of Bt cotton tenant farmers were tested by null hypothesis and empirical hypothesis.

The study was conducted in Andhra Pradesh state during 2017-18. A total of 120 Bt cotton tenant farmers were selected randomly for the study. Data was collected by interview schedule. Majority (65.83%) of the Bt cotton tenant farmers had medium knowledge, followed by low (17.50%) and high (16.67%) level of knowledge regarding recommended package of practices in Bt cotton.
