  • The dairy enterprise is very crucial for developing countries to generate the income of poor people of rural areas. In present investigation, the milk yields were correlated with different type traits in early, mid lactation and overall. They showed that the negative or positive association with milk yields and composition n at early and mid lactation. In early lactation stage, the type traits such as chest width, rump width, udder depth, rear leg set rear view, rear udder height, fore udder attachment and front teat position were positively associated with milk production (yields).

The data pertaining to the feeds and feeding systems being followed and their input costs were collected from the records maintained for all the animals at the dairy farm. The lactation yield of cows and buffaloes has been worked out to 996 and 1150 Litres, respectively. The cost of daily feeding per head and per Litre of milk has been estimated to Rs. 60.26 and Rs. 10.80, respectively.

  • The dairy farming in our country is entirely different from other developed countries. The reason is that small and marginal farmers feeding of dairy animals produce the bulk of production in our country. In terms of buffer use in nutrition, it has been defined as a salt of a weak acid which neutralizes acids that occur in feeds or acids produced during digestion and metabolism of nutrients. The experiment was carried out on 16 healthy crossbred cows nearly similar age and in late stage lactation to study the effect of feeding buffer on milk yield and fat per cent of raw milk.
