The research project is a collaborative, action inquiry, case study that investigates the gendered and inclusive practices of a teacher, exploring gendered language and behaviour that is (or not) utilised within their teaching. The researcher and the participant teacher plan, conduct, observe, reflect and discuss the role of gender in the learning and teaching practices in a grade 3/4 classroom.

This paper aims to demonstrate how Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) can be used as a conceptual framework for investigating gender stereotypes in political media discourse. Language and gender studies in media discourse work with a diverse theoretical standpoint underpinning each particular work, and are generally bound by a concern for the reproduction of ideology in language use, which is also one of the aims of CDA.

This paper discusses the results of a comparative study of distributional equivalences among adjectivals in four Slavic languages, namely, Russian, Czech, Polish and Serbo-Croatian. A procedure for determining equivalence is defined, and is applied to the results of analyzing the adjectivals of each language with respect to gender, animateness, and case and number.

RELATIVE CLAUSES The problems discussed are those of syntactical ambiguity and multimeaning in translating relative pronouns from German to English. The former, which is of concern for the English word order, arises from the coexistence in German of homomorphous inflections and variable word order, the latter from this combined with gender dissimilarities in the two languages.
