Bighead catfish, Clarias macrocephalus, is an important species for aquaculture. Nevertheless, information on population variation in their reproductive characteristics and larval growth is limited. This research aimed to evaluate the reproductive performance and larval growth of three bighead catfish broodstock strains collected in Ca Mau (CM) and Hau Giang (HG) provinces (wild strains), and Can Tho (CT, domesticated strain) in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam.

This study evaluates the Black Sea anchovy population infected by parasitic Ascaridoid Nematode larva in the Southern Black Sea. It assesses the larva’s effect on fish body condition, energy stored in the body, and anchovy growth. For this, anchovies sampled on July 10–31, 2018, from 30 different stations were examined, and 11.8% of the 825 anchovies were found infected. The observed infection rate was higher on the western side of the study area, suggesting that this rate may be used as a biomarker for the western stock.

Population dynamics studies of pink stem borer was carried out during spring seasons of the year 2013-14 and 2014-15 at the Research cum Instructional Farm, IGKV, Raipur (C.G.). Larval population increased gradually and reached to a peak of 13.81 and 18.56 larvae /plant in 56 days (12th SMW) and 49 days (11th SMW) in spring season during 2013-14 and 2014-15, respectively.

Fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda is an invasive alien pest that attacks mainly maize crop. Influence of weather parameter on the incidence of S. frugiperda larva on maize was studied during 2019-2020 at Cauvery Delta Zone, Tamilnadu, India. Random survey was conducted in six maize growing areas and correlation between larval population and weather parameters like maximum temperature, minimum temperature and rainfall was worked out. The larva population had significant positive correlation of both same (r = 0.32 to 0.45) and previous week (r = 0.21 to 0.52) at all the locations.

The current study highlights the importance of entomopathogenic nematode (EPN), their bacterial symbionts and their combined efficacy along with Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) in C. medinalis management. In the field experiment conducted at Thenthiruperai, Xenorhabdus bovienii+ Bt and X. japonica combined with Bt found to be more effective with 80.54 per cent and 79.37 per cent reduction in larval population over untreated control respectively.

The root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) is one of the important pathogen of Tomato plant in India. Pot experiments conducted for the evaluation of effect of Trichoderma species against root knot Nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) in Tomato. The results revealed that the Treatments T4proved to be the most effective treatment that showed better larval mortality (54.55% @24 hrs and 65.12% @48 hrs) and reduction in nematode population (113.33 %) and root gall/ root system(74.89%.

Investigation was undertaken during 2015-2016 and 2016-2017on farmer’s field to study the bio-efficacy of newer insecticides against Plutella xylostella L. infesting cabbage. The cabbage crop (var. Saint) was raised by following recommended package of practices except for plant protection measures. Treatments included of six newer insecticides along with two conventional insecticides and one synthetic pyrethroid. Results revealed that all the insecticidal treatments were significantly superior over untreated control by recording lower larval population.

A roving survey was conducted in the trans Yamuna and Ganga taluks of Allahabad district to evaluate the outburst of cyst nematode (Heterodera cajani) on pigeon pea wilt. The maximum cysts population was recorded in Kuanvillage where in 51 cysts were found in 500 g of soil followed by Telghana (41) and the lowest population was recorded in Panwar (41) per 500 g of soil followed byKarchhana (18). Highest larval population was found in the soil sample of Telghana (664) followed by Dera (659) in all the surveyed villages of trans Yamuna and Ganga taluks of Allahabad.

Studies were carried out at Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura, Sopore, SKUAST-K, during the year, 2016-2017. The larval infestation of H. armigera started a month and half (22SW) after transplanting of the crop in all the tomato genotypes. A negative and nonsignificant correlation was computed between H. armigera larval population and maximum temperature (r = -0.032), whereas sunshine hours had negative and significant association (r = -0.566) with fruit borer larvae.

The goal of this experiment was to study the life history and population growth parameters of Cricula trifenestrata Helfer (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) reared on Machilus bombycina King, the food plant of muga silkworm (Antheraea assama Westwood). Biological and life table parameters differed significantly in different generations. The longest and shortest larval period of 43.68±1.34 and 38.67±1.13 days were recorded in January-March and May-October generations respectively.

The present investigation was carried out during kharif season 2010 and 2012 at farmers’ field near College of Agriculture, Kundeshwar Road, Tikamgarh (M.P.). Nine insecticides were evaluated against semilooper and tobacco caterpillar on JS 93-05 variety of soybean in randomized complete block design with three replications. The result revealed that all the insecticides, under investigation, were found effective in reducing the population of semilooper and tobacco caterpillar over the unsprayed control. However, among the insecticides, indoxacarb (14.

The cole crops like cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and brussel sprouts etc. are most important vegetables consumed all over the world, among them cabbage and cauliflower are economically vegetables in India. Most of the cruciferous vegetables are vulnerable to many insect pests. The Diamondback moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella Lineaus is the most serious pest in causing economic loss. DBM developed resistant to almost all the synthetic insecticides. Here we collected DBM population from Field of Rattihalli, Haveri district of the state Karnataka, India and reared for one generation.
