Root systems are critical for plant growth and development. The Casparian strip in root systems is involved in stress resistance and maintaining homeostasis. Casparian strip membrane domain proteins (CASPs) are responsible for the formation of Casparian strips.

Optimazize the in vitro Ngoc Linh ginseng lateral root culture and multiplicate the root biomass is more stable and higher in bioreactor system. Determine and evalute the effect of different types, and concentrations of five elicitors (SA, JA, ABA, CHN và YE) on producing saponin compounds. Next, combine in various types of elicitors to enhance effectiveness of the saponin accumulation, and determine the best elicitation time to develop the highest saponin in LRs of Ngoc Linh từ ARs in vitro.

The present study investigated the effects of organic and plastic mulching on root development and nodulation related biometric properties of cowpea determined at different stages of crop growth (60 DAS and at harvest after 90 DAS). At 60 DAS and 90 DAS (at harvest stage), majority of the root development parameters such as root length, number of secondary roots/lateral roots, root weight with nodules, root weight without nodules were recorded highest in plants grown under organic mulch treatments with different level of drip irrigation.

The aim of the study was to determine the influence of root pruning on the above and below ground vegetative growth of poplar (Populus deltoides) clones viz., S7C15 and Uday in 2012-13 at College of Forestry, SHUATS, Allahabad (U.P). The experiment involved a factorial randomized block design which had five treatments(P1 – Control (un-pruned roots), P2- root pruned at 5 cm, P3- root pruned at 10 cm, P4- root pruned at 15 cm and P5 - root pruned at 20 cm) with three replications and each treatment consisted of 10 plants.

Bush pepper is a miniature black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) plant grown in the form of a bush as potted plant with decorative and economic value, raised from lateral branches (plagiotrops) of yielding vines. Growth hormones and plant growth promoting rhizomicroorganisms were evaluated for their effects on rooting of plagiotropic cuttings of black pepper.

Development of SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms) marker is an important step to initiate the molecular breeding and genetic based studies. Identification and validation of polymorphic SNP will be valuable resource for gene tagging through linkage mapping/QTL mapping. In present study, two ecological ecotypes of Arabidopsis thaliana i.e. Col-0 and Don-0 exhibited variation at phenotypic level (leaf, flower, siliques and root related traits) and genotypic level (SNPs). Out of 500 SNPs, total 365 polymorphic SNPs were validated on Sequenome MassARRAY.

An experiment was conducted to find out the effect of integrated nutrient management on nutrient concentration and uptake of Grafted tomato during 2017-2018 at Central Horticultural Experiment Station (Aiginia), Bhubaneswar with inorganic and organic nutrient sources. The experimental results of grafted tomato with INM package showed that Nutrient content of fruit was higher in non-grafted tomato than grafted tomatoes. Whereas, in harvested plant sample nutrient content was higher in grafted tomato.

Invasive species (weeds) contribute to great losses in crop productivity, and one of the strategies for controlling their distribution in the field involves the use of herbicides. However, the development of new formulations for the control of weeds is challenged by environmental issues, increases in the resistance of weeds to herbicides, and poor selectivity of herbicides towards invasive species.

Hairy roots induced by Agrobacterium rhizogenes are distinguished by their high growth rate, genetic stability, and lateral branching. Datura metel is an important medicinal plant whose hairy roots are used for the production of atropine, a tropane alkaloid applied as an anticholinergic and parasympathetic agent.

The contribution of different nitrogen sources (nitrate 15N-NO3 and symbiotic N-N2) to the nitrogen status of soybean in ontogenesis was studied. Nitrate was assimilated effectively during the vegetative growth, whereas later on the nitrogen-fixation by root nodules became the basic source of nitrogen.

Mechanical impedance is experienced to varying degrees by virtually all roots growing through soil. If continuous pores of sufficiently large diameter do not already exist, a root tip must exert a force to deform the soil. This process may considerably decrease root elongation rates, increase the root diameter and change the pattern of lateral root initiation (Russell, 1977). In this paper, the effects of mechanical impedance on root morphology are reviewed and some direct comparisons between soil resistance to root growth and resistance to a penetrometer are discussed.

The World Health Organization, for example, first developed the Expanded Programme on Immunization and subsequently the Programme for the Control of Diarrhoeal Diseases. UNICEF chose four specific interventions on which to focus: growth monitoring, oral rehydration therapy, breast- feeding promotion, and immunization, known by the acronym GOBI. It later added three more (food, family planning, and female education).
