"In vitro salinity stress mediates grass pea genotypes’ (Lathyrus sativus L.) responses" was carried out to determine the tolerance of grass pea genotypes to salinity stress at callus and seedling stages under in vitro conditions. The calli and seedlings of six selected tolerant genotypes based on the primary screening in the field were separately exposed to salinity treatments (0, 125 mM) in vitro.

The objective of the present study was conceived to investigate whether physical radiation and chemical mutagen disturbed the normal relationship or not between different yield attributing characters during mutagenesis programme. The present study was undertaken to find out the association between yield and yield components in M2 and M3 generations in three grasspea varieties so that the derived information would be helpful in developing appropriate selection methods and improving the economically important characters.

A field experiment was carried out at ‘A-B’ Block farm of BCKV, West Bengal, during subsequent winter seasons of 2017-18 and 2018-19 with grass pea variety Ratan (Bio L-212). Ten treatment combinations were laid out in a factorial RBD consisting seed priming with Ammonium molybdate @ 0.5 g kg-1 seed and foliar feeding at pre-flowering or a second spray at 15 days interval using 2% Urea or 0.5% NPK (19:19:19) to analyse their effect on quality and nutrient uptake of relay grass pea.

Grass pea (Lathyrus sativus L.) is a valuable resource for potentially durable partial resistance to rust. To gain insight into the resistance mechanism and identify potential resistance genes, we generated the first comprehensive transcriptome assemblies from control and Uromyces pisi inoculated leafs of a susceptible and a partially rust-resistant grass pea genotype by RNA-seq.

One field experiment was conducted in the winter season of the year 2016-2017 to determine the effects of agro-climatic factors on crop developmental rate (CDR) of grass pea (Lathyrus sativus L.). CDR of a phenological stage is simply the reciprocal of the duration of that particular stage. Grass pea (variety: ‘Prateek’) was sown on nine different dates (26th October, 2nd November, 9th November, 16th November, 23rd November, 30th November, 7th December, 14th December and 21st December).

A field experiment was conducted during Kharif and Rabi seasons 2016-17 to evaluate the effects of preceding scented rice varieties and carry-over nutrients on soil microbial properties (microbial biomass carbon, microbial population and dehydrogenase activity) in scented rice-lathyrus relay cropping under organic system. The nine treatments included three scented rice varieties and five organic inputs and one control which were laid out in factorial RBD with 3 replications. Among the three preceding scented rice varieties, the highest microbial biomass carbon (912.

Lathyrus sativus L. (grass pea) is an important grain legume crop grown all over the world. It is very recalcitrant and difficult to regenerate under in vitro conditions. The present study determined the effect of preconditioning of cytokinins [10 and 20 mg L–1 thidiazuron (TDZ) and 2-isopentenyl adenine (2iP)] and postconditioning of dissimilar levels of TDZ-indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and 2iP-IBA on in vitro shoot multiplication using embryonic node explants.
