Jasminum binhchauense, a new species of the family Oleaceae, is described and illustrated. The species was collected during 2022–2023 from Binh Chau-Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve, Ba RiaVung Tau province, southern Vietnam. The new species differs from its congeners in its branchlets, leaf blade, petioles and calyx. A taxonomic description, a table comparing morphological characters of the allied species, and illustrations, a color photo-plate are provided.

Lily is an economically important plant, with leaves and bulbs consisting of overlapping scales, large ornamental flowers and a very large genome. Although it is recognized that flowers and bulb scales are modified leaves, very little is known about the genetic control and biochemical differentiation underlying lily organogenesis and development.

The bast fiber crop ramie can be used as high-quality forage resources, especially in tropical or subtropical region where there is lack of high-quality protein feed. Hongxuan No.1 (HX_1) is a unique ramie variety with a light reddish brown leaf color, which is obviously different from elite cultivar, Zhongzhu No.1 (ZZ_1, green leaf). While, the regulatory mechanism of color difference or secondary metaboliates synthesis between these two varieties have not been studied.

Ornamental cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. acephala) is an attractive landscape plant that remains colorful at low temperatures during winter. Its key feature is its inner leaf coloration, which can include red, pink, lavender, blue, violet and white. Some ornamental cabbages exhibit variation in leaf color pattern linked to leaf developmental stage. However, little is known about the molecular mechanism underlying changes in leaf pigmentation pattern between developmental stages.

Anthocyanins perform diverse biological functions in plants and are beneficial to human health. Leaf color is the most important trait of ornamental kale and the characteristics of changes in leaf color make it an ideal material to elucidate genetic mechanisms of anthocyanins accumulation in Brassica oleracea.

Lysine succinylation, an important protein posttranslational modification (PTM), is widespread and conservative. The regulatory functions of succinylation in leaf color has been reported. The chimeric leaves of Ananas comosus var. bracteatus are composed of normal green parts and albino white parts.

Leaf color is an important ornamental trait of colored-leaf plants. The change of leaf color is closely related to the synthesis and accumulation of anthocyanins in leaves. Acer pseudosieboldianum is a colored-leaf tree native to Northeastern China, however, there was less knowledge in Acer about anthocyanins biosynthesis and many steps of the pathway remain unknown to date.

Powdery mildew and Rust are major diseases of pea of worldwide distribution. Powdery mildew and Rust is an airborne disease. Powdery mildew is a particularly damaging in late sowing or in late maturity varieties. It is caused by Erysisphe pisi. The disease can cause 20-50% yield losses, reducing total yield biomass, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, plant height and number of nodes. The disease also affects green pea quality. Pea rust is characterized by the appearance of two types of symptoms.

Scab is the most serious disease of apple, particularly in years with cool wet springs and summers. Symptoms occur on leaf blade, fruit, petioles, sepals, blossoms, young shoots, and bud scales. The lesion increase in size as olive green colored which become progressively darker brown raised and velvety in appearance due to the abundant production of conidiophores and conidia.

The present study was carried out to estimate the extent of variation for qualitative traits for advanced mutant generations of oat. Observations were recorded for the different agro-morphological characters viz., plant growth habit, ligule shape, leaf blade hairiness, leaf blade hairiness, recurved flag leaves, stem width, leaf width, leaf color, panicle attitude. Characterization of accessions provides the important information about morphological and agronomical aspects of the material that is essential for gene bank management.

A Alternaria leaf spot (ALS) and flower heads spot (FHS) disease of Heliconia rostrata plants is prevalent in India. Heliconias plants are known for their beautiful, brilliant colorful flowering bracts. Breathtaking and unusual flower heads (bracts) rise from clumps of banana like leaves, sometimes very large or slender. They are also known as the birds of paradise which are found mostly in Indian gardens. Symptomatic can be seen on the leaves and flower heads like to be small and circular spots with concentric rings at first which later became irregular lesions.
