  • In this study, Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) were green synthesized using Piper chaudocanum L. (PC) leaf extract by sol-gel method and used as an adsorbent for the removal of Pb (II) ions from aqueous solution. The synthesized ZnO NPs were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Ultraviolet - visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) and Brunauer - Emmet - Teller (BET).

  • A significant mechanism of salt-tolerance in rice is the ability to remove Na+ and Cl− in the leaf sheath, which limits the entry of these toxic ions into the leaf blade. The leaf sheath removes Na+ mainly in the basal parts, and Cl− mainly in the apical parts.

  • For many crucial experiments in gene cloning and further identification, purified and high quality genomic DNA is the prerequisite. In plants, polysaccharides and secondary metabolites impurities removal is complicated and time-consuming protocols are available for pigeon pea plant. In present study, rapid and proficient method for DNA extraction was optimized. The method utilizes small amount of plant material to lessen inhibitory agents like polysaccharides and phenolic compound.

  • The study was carried out at school of forestry and environment nursery, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. An eight year old plantation of clone of G-48 of Poplar (Populus deltoids) was selected. The leaf litter fall we found that the decomposition of poplar leaf litter is very slow; this has detrimental physical effect on wheat intercrop. Plant height, numbers of leaves/ plant, fresh wt. of root (g) dry wt. of root (g), numbers of tiller/plants, fresh wt. of shoot (g), dry wt.

  • This study was done to recognize the capacity of C. demersum for different concentrations of lead element in lab aqueous ecosystem. The concentrations of 10, 20 and 30 ppm were used in three replications for each concentration for 30 days. The results showed that the plant can remove 30 ppm of Pb. Significant differences were found in removing capacity by plant for Pb, in all concentrations 10, 20, 30 during experiment period. There was accumulation in the stem more than the leaf. The highest removal ratio for Pb in the stem was 10.25 ppm, 9.

  • The nutrient, minerals and vitamin analysis of Moringa oleifera leaf meal (MOLM) was analyzed in this study. Moringa leaves were harvested from different parts of Namakkal district of Tamilnadu. Stem and branches were cut from Moringa trees and spread out under the shade to dry at 35oC for seven days. The leaves were then removed manually, grounded into powder and preserved for use. The proximate analysis of sample for moisture, crude protein, crude fibre, ether extract, total ash was done as per the AOAC (1995). The nutrient composition of leaves recorded as...

  • Under high plant density, intensifying competition among individual plants led to overconsumption of energy and nutrients and resulted in an almost dark condition in the lower strata of the canopy, which suppressed the photosynthetic potential of the shaded leaves. Leaf removal could help to ameliorate this problem and increase crop yields.

  • An investigation was conducted to study the effect of Pruning and Training systems on Cucumber cv. Malini grown under protected conditions. The whole experiment was arranged over 12 treatments consisting of 4 levels of Pruning, P1 (Removal of flower buds up to 45cm), P2 (Removal of flower buds up to 60cm), P3 (Removal of flower buds up to 75cm) and P4 (No Pruning). The characters like vine length, leaf area, days to first flowering, days to first harvest, number of fruits per vine, fruit length, fruit diameter etc. were significantly influenced by pruning systems. • Trees absorb pollutants through the same process they take up nutrients, i.e. stomata (pores on the surface of the leaf), roots and root hairs. Additional pollution is removed by capture on their leaf/needle and bark surfaces. Taylor and Constable (1994) estimated for SO2 and O3 that 70% and 80% of the pollution absorbed is internal to the leaf. For particulates, the main wet absorption route is through tree roots (Broadmeadow and Freer-Smith, 1996), whereas the main dry absorption route is through deposition on leaf and bark surfaces.

  • Permanent grass cover crop is a technique used in the vineyards of Villa Bel-Air. As a result, the grass absorbs the water and the nutrients from the top layer of the soil, and forces the vine roots to go deeper and deeper to find nourishment. Throughout the year, de-budding, leaf-thinning and crop thinning are performed by the technical team. All of these manual operations ensure the perfect health and maturity of each bunch. The harvested grapes are then transferred onto a modern sorting table to remove all remaining vegetal matter.

  • Life on Earth is dependent on sunlight. In the process known as photosynthesis, plants, algae and certain bacterias are capable of using this source of energy to drive the synthesis of organic compounds. The oxygenic photosynthesis results in the release of molecular oxygen and the removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere that is used to synthesize carbohydrates.
