The objective was to understand how the additional nutritional dynamics associated with crayfish influence the basil crop. Both fresh and dry basil plant weights were collected after harvest, followed by leaf nutrient analysis. Leaf chlorophyll content, water pH, nitrogen and temperature were measured periodically.

Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) growth, development and production are sensitive to abiotic stress conditions, yet studies about investigation of stress response of potato plants in regulation of gene expression level are limited. The aim of this study was to identify the role of newly identified Novel_105 miRNA in contrasting potato cultivars (tolerant Unica and sensitive Russet Burbank) in response to heat, drought and combined heat and drought stresses using transgenic approach.

Ornamental cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. acephala) is an attractive landscape plant that remains colorful at low temperatures during winter. Its key feature is its inner leaf coloration, which can include red, pink, lavender, blue, violet and white. Some ornamental cabbages exhibit variation in leaf color pattern linked to leaf developmental stage. However, little is known about the molecular mechanism underlying changes in leaf pigmentation pattern between developmental stages.

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.), one of the most economically important leaf vegetables, exhibits early bolting under high-temperature conditions. Early bolting leads to loss of commodity value and edibility, leading to considerable loss and waste of resources.

Weather change in high-altitude areas subjects mature tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) to cold stress, which damages tobacco leaf yield and quality. A brupt diurnal temperature differences (the daily temperature dropping more than 20 °C) along with rainfall in tobacco-growing areas at an altitude above 2450 m, caused cold stress to field-grown tobacco.

Short episodes of high temperature (HT) stress during reproductive stages of development cause significant yield losses in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Two independent experiments were conducted to quantify the effects of HT during anthesis and grain filling periods on photosynthesis, leaf lipidome, and yield traits in wheat.

As a cool-season grass species, tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea) is challenged by increasing temperatures. Heat acclimation or activation of leaf senescence, are two main strategies when tall fescue is exposed to heat stress (HS).

The crop is attacked by a number of diseases such as Alternaria leaf blight, Cercospora leaf spot, powdery mildew, downy mildew and anthracnose, amongst which Alternaria leaf blight caused by Alternaria cucumerina is found to cause serious losses throughout Rajasthan and other states. The incidence and severity of Alternaria blight in bottle gourd fields is greatly influenced by temperature, relative humidity, soil condition at the time of planting, splashing rain, wind velocity, leaf wetness and inoculum density available in the soil (Meena et al., 2004).

In this study, a direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) process of the LiCl liquid desiccant solution was simulated using MATLAB software. The simulation was first validated with the data obtained from experimental tests. Then, it was used to elucidate the feed and distillate temperatures, LiCl concentration, and water flux profiles along the membrane leaf inside the DCMD membrane module. Finally, with the help of the simulation, the effects of membrane properties and process operating conditions on the DCMD process performance were systematically examined.

Although, protective cultivation (in soil or soilless media) offers a favorable environment for crop growth, development and consequently, results in higher productivity. However, numerous factors viz. temperature, relative humidity, radiation, evapotranspiration (crop water requirement) vapour pressure deficit, plant stomatal conductance, irrigation, fertigation, disease incidence, leaf wetness duration, electricity cost, diesel fuel cost and labor cost affect the greenhouse cucumber production to a significant degree.

An experiment was conducted to study the storage and viability of karonda seeds (Carrisa carandas L.). Studies revealed that the seeds possessed short viability due to recalcitrant nature. This could overcome by finding a suitable storage temperature and container treatment for storage of karonda seeds. This study showed significant differences among the storage conditions and container treatments.

Rice plants require a particular temperature for its phonological affair such as panicle initiation; flowering, panicle exertions from flag leaf sheath and maturity and these are very much influenced by the planting dates during India season. Rice seeded before the window of optimum dates usually has slow germination and emergence, poor stand establishment and increased damages from soil borne seedling diseases.
