Length of growing period

Kuthanagere micro watershed is located in Ramanagar district. It was developed in 1995 with bench mark information on GIS and monitored for 19 years for changes in soil- site characteristics. The normal annual rainfall of the Kuthanagere watershed was 1027.6 mm in 45 rainy days. The area under 3 to 5 per cent slope was considerably reduced (by 6 %) as against increase in area (by 13 %) under 1 to 3 per cent slope class. Further the area under moderate erosion was decreased by 4.66 per cent and that became qualified under none to slight erosion class.

For adopting a particular cropping plan, the time of onset of monsoon is the most important single parameter but it has not been considered in most of the studies conducted for crop planning under rainfed regions. Rainfall data of Bhilwara district in Rajasthan state for a period of 57 years were analysed from two approaches viz.; „Meteorological‟ approach and „Onset of monsoon‟ approach.

In the present investigation lentil genotypes; one macrosperma (IPL-406) and the other microsperma (HUL-57) were subjected to drought stress at mid-vegetative, flowerinitiation and pod-formation stages by withholding irrigation. We observed that drought stress of various phenophases significantly decreased shoot length (8% - 22%), leaf area (23% - 52%), CMS (26% - 58%) and phenological developments (0 - 14 DAS) but increased root length (14% - 63%) of plants. The present gross morphometrical study was carried out on the brain of six healthy birds of Kadaknath Fowl in growing period (7 weeks to 16 weeks). The birds were procured from the Central Poultry Development Organization (CPDO), Eastern Region, Bhubaneswar and the research work was conducted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jharsuguda, OUAT. It was found that the brain of Kadaknath fowl subdivided into cerebrum, cerebellum and medulla oblongata. It was found that the average maximum length and width of the brain were found to be (3.2±0.124) cm and (2.9±0.091) cm respectively.

Interview participants concurred that trust, respect, and appreciation must be developed over time and that having the same people involved over a longer period of time helps create and maintain a culture of trust. The length of board terms was one example given. The longer the term (or the number of terms allowed), the more the board member’s knowledge grows thereby increasing trust and the continuity for maintaining that culture of trust.
