The use of post-emergence herbicide needs to be advocated in lentil. There is a need to develop most effective and economical fertilizer management and weed control practices for obtaining higher yield as well as profitability. Keeping these facts in view, the present experiment was designed to determine the best suitable fertilizer and weed management technique for lentil crop.

In spite of being the most consumed pulse of the NER, lentil is cultivated sporadically on relatively poor soils and in harsh environments with a little or no fertilizer after rice crop. Therefore, there is a need of identifying lentil germplasms that is adapted to low input acidic soils to achieve remunerative productivity. The present study was conducted to evaluate root length and P- uptake of five lentil genotypes under acidic and water acarcity conditions. From the studies of root traits and P-uptake we identified three lines viz.

Twenty lentil genotypes were taken to study the dry matter production, partitioning, and yield, under three different dates of sowing (15 November, 6 December, and 27 December), data were recorded at various growth stages. A decrease in root dry matter in late sowings at pre-flowering and post-flowering was observed. Crop grown on the second sowing (late sown, 6 December) registered higher means for total dry weight and yield at 50 and 65 days after sowing

Lentil (Lens culinaris Medikus) is an important winter season grain legume crop, mostly grown on residual soil moisture and is frequently subjected to terminal drought and heat stress, that results in low and variable seed yields. Moreover, delay in sowing even for two weeks causes the reproductive and grain filling phase of this crop to coincide with a period of substantially high temperature resulting in yield losses by reduced seed set, seed weight and accelerated senescence.

A field experiment was conducted during Rabi season at AKS University Satna (M.P.) during 2016-2017, the experiment consist of three factors viz. four Nitrogen levels (N10, N20, N30 and N40), four phosphorus levels (P50, P60, P70 and P80) and four potash levels (K10, K20, K30 and K40) was laid out in a randomized block design. with the objective of studying the effect of fertility levels on growth parameters (plant height, no. of branches per plant, no. of nodules per plant, fresh weight, dry weight), phenological parameters (LAI, CGR, RGR) and yield parameters ( no.
