Lilium tsingtauense is an endangered bulb plant in China that has curved leaves and orange flowers. Little is known about the opening of the L. tsingtauense flower. In this paper, the blooming process of L. tsingtauense flowers was sampled in five stages according to characteristic tepal morphology. The center of the tepal has an increasing elongation rate compared with the upper and lower parts.

Therefore, numerous lily bulbs are frequently infected by diverse viruses causing viral diseases. Different nutrient solutions alone or in combinations were applied as foliar spray on Asiatic lilium hybrid Tresor and evaluated for different characters. Plants sprayed with only water were taken as control. Other treatments were done with the dose of nutrients used in preparation of tissue culture Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium (1962) in different combinations.

These chitinase-producing bacterial strains were tested for antagonistic activity against the causal agent of bulb and stem rots of lilies, Fusarium oxysporum, and the results indicated antifungal activity of the four strains HP02, VRQ9, HM03, and GL10. The HP02 strain had the highest level of chitinase activity and was capable of being antagonistic to Fusarium oxysporum. Based on morphological and biochemical characteristics, 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and phylogenetic analysis of this sequence along with sequences from GenBank, HP02 was identified as Bacillus subtilis.

The effects of sucrose pulsing, cold storage methods (dry and wet) and cold storage duration (one and two weeks) on the post-storage attributes of cut lilies in Dalat were studied. After harvest, the lilies were treated with sucrose pulsing solutions consisting of three concentrations of sucrose (0, 50, and 100 g/L) in combination with 0.2 mM silver thiosulphate (STS) and water as control for 24h at room temperature, then placed in wet and dry cold storage at 2.5 °C for one and two weeks.

Appraisal of Lilium cultivars namely, Nashville (Yellow), Eyeliner (White) and Hyde Park (Orange) was carried out at Centre for Quality Planting Material, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar (Haryana) during winter season of 2017- 18 to identify the suitable cultivar for successful cultivation and flower production under polyhouse growing conditions. The results reveal that among different cultivars, the cultivar Nashville had the towering plants with maximum leaf number, largest flower with maximum flower diameter (20.81cm) and more number of flowers per plant (4.47).

In the present study, effect of GA3 and BA on plant growth and flowering attributes of lily was evaluated. Experiment was conducted during 2014-2015 in Horticulture Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi under polyhouse condition. Treatments consisted of Single and Double dose of GA3 100 ppm, GA3 150 ppm, GA3 200 ppm, BA 100 ppm, BA 150 ppm, BA 200 ppm and control. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with thirteen treatments and replicated three times.

The present study was carried out to develop an effective protocol for in vitro culture of Lilium longiflorum T. cv. Pavia. Three different types of explants like leaves, outer and inner bulb scales were exposed to two sterilants: sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) with their varying concentrations; NaClO (2%, 3%, 4% and 5%) and H2O2 (0.05%, 0.10%, 0.15% and 0.20%).
