  • A Li-CuFe2O4 thin film has a well-defined nanocrystalline structure with a crystallite size of ~17 nm. The TEM and SEM images of the Li-CuFe2O4 thin film show a polyhedron shape of nanoparticles with uneven sizes, resulting in a significant change in its gas sensing characteristics such as sensitivity and sensor response.

  • In this work, an enzymatic liquid-gated field-effect-transistor sensor based on chemically reduced graphene oxide film was developed for determination of acetylthiocholine in aqueous conditions. The device was designed with interdigitated electrode configuration and then manufactured by combining lithography and chemical vapor deposition techniques in clean room.

  • Pyrene dye has many superior characteristics for oxygen sensing studies such as long fluorescence lifetime, high quantum yield, and good sensitivity. It is preferred in some cases over ruthenium dyes for its more lipophilic character and higher sensitivity. However, easy photodegradation of pyrene is a challenging problem. In this study, pyrene dye was for the first time immobilized in an ethyl cellulose matrix and used for oxygen sensing in the form of thin films and electrospun sensing slides.

  • Chitosan passivated carbon nanodots (C-Dots CHIT) were synthesized from expired molasses via a simple and green thermal synthesis procedure. As-synthesized C-Dots were nitrogen-doped (NC-Dots CHIT) by posttreatment with liquid ammonia and used as nanoprobes for fluorometric detection of mercury ions (Hg(II) aq.). Fluorescence response of NC-Dots CHIT in the presence of mercury was evaluated and compared with that of the polyethylene glycol passivated C-Dots P EG . This sensing strategy using NC-Dots CHIT displayed a wide linear working range from 1.25 µg/mL to 43.

  • Determining the blood glucose level is important for the prevention and treatment of diabetes mellitus. We developed a sensor system using Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) to determine the blood glucose level from human blood serum. This study consists of two experimental stages: artificial glucose/pure water solution tests and human blood serum tests. In the first stage of the study, the QCM sensor with the highest performance was identified using artificial glucose solution concentrations.

  • Uncontrolled urbanization of African cities and the lack of municipal waste mana gement services in these cities make landscapes become places of multiple and varied interactions between health and environment. In this sense, under strong urban growth in a context of sub-equipment sanitation, the city of Maradi doesn’t escape to this situation which results in the spread of pollution (release of unpleasant odors, and proliferation of mosquitoes) and many diseases posing multiple health problems. Our study focuses only on liquid waste especially domestic wastewater.

  • The system with an LSM however also possesses some ‘bad’ equilibria. These feature the somehow paradoxical mix of high liquidity usage, intense use of the LSM, and costs which exceed those of the vanilla RTGS system. The reason behind the existence of such equilibria is probably the following: if many payments are sent in the LSM, this can be self-sustaining, in the sense that each bank finds it convenient to do so.

  • Clearly, interest rate policy implemented by the Fed’s current operating procedures could not survive in this case. If the Fed persisted in implementing interest rate policy with its current procedures, the Fed would continually sell securities to withdraw reserves and currency. Reserves, for example, would be withdrawn to keep their marginal narrow liquidity services yield from falling below the interest opportunity cost represented by the federal funds rate target.

  • What substances are called absorbents? What is the most important of these? What substances are called charcoal in agriculture? How is vegetable matter rendered useful as charcoal? Before considering farther the subject of animal excrement, it is necessary to examine a class of manures known as absorbents. These comprise all matters which have the power of absorbing, or soaking up, as it were, the gases which arise from the evaporation of solid and liquid manures, and retaining them until required by plants. The most important of these is undoubtedly carbon or charcoal. CHARCOAL.

  • In modern high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), computers in a broad sense are used in every instrumental module and at every stage of analysis. Computers control the flow rate, eluent composition, temperature, injection volume, and injection process. Detector output signal is converted from analog form into the digital representation to recognize the presence of peaks, and then at higher level of computer analysis a chromatogram is obtained. All these computer-based functions are performed in the background, and the chromatographer usually does not think about them.

  • Perhaps nothing is so ingrained in our senses as the perpetual pulling of the earth on our surroundings. It’s always there, never changing. It’s been hugging solids, liquids and gases to the earth’s surface for over 4 billion years. Earth’s gravity is built into our descriptions of our world with words like up, down, and weight. Exactly what is weight? A weight is a force, nothing more. Your weight is the pull of earth’s gravity on your body. Likewise, the weight of your car is the force of the earth’s attraction for it. The greater the mass is, the...
