Longleng district falls under the subtropical hill zone of Eastern Nagaland. Agriculture is the main stay of the people, in which Low land (Pani Kheti) is one of them for their livelihood. Farmers of the district practiced traditional rice cultivation with low yield after maximum inputs due to lack of knowledge of improved cultivation practices. Therefore, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) took initiative to replace the farmers’ practices through disseminations of improved technology for enhancing the productivity and income.

Time series and cross section data related to area, production and yield of major crops were collected from published reports of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and North East Council, Government of India. Similarly secondary data on livestock products for NER states were collected from the same source. This paper annual compound growth rates were estimated for various crops and livestock products by fitting a log linear regression model.

The awareness for vermicompost production for soil health as well as for entrepreneurship development was created among the rural population of Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Chittorgarh through Front Line Demonstration programmes. The FLD programmes were conducted during year 2015 to 2017 and the study was conducted during year 2018-19. The study was conducted on the beneficiaries of FLD programmes and total 100 farmers were selected randomly.

The demand of green fodder for livestock rearing has been increasing and livestock breeds of farmers require good quality fodder and feed in order to increase milk yield of exotic breed. The study was conducted in Kerala state of India and comprised of 242 farmers selected from three districts of the state. The impact of fodder cultivation was assessed on five levels viz. direct, social, economic, psychological and indirect impact. The study revealed that the highest percentage of farmers perceived fodder cultivation to have a medium level impact on their overall livelihood.

The integrated farming system study was conducted at farmers field of villages of vridhachalam block of Cuddalore District to improve farmer’s income and ensure their sustainable livelihood. Study was conducted in three demonstrations in wet land situation with components viz., Crop, Fish, poultry and FYM & vermicompost and two demonstrations in dry land situation with components viz., Crop-Fodder crop-LivestockVermicompost.

To sustain dairy farming as a rural livelihood and to meet the growing demand of milk, necessitates dissemination of technologies/innovations for improving the farm’s output. There is also a need to understand how far existing innovations are diffused to the farmers and factors influencing diffusion and/or rejection. Based on the highest cattle population and best rank in adoption of recommended dairy innovations three districts namely Visakhapatnam, Krishna and Chittoor were selected from each region of Andhra Pradesh respectively.

However, the level of monthly income from backyard poultry is low still it is an important source of supplementing earnings. The present study was conducted to know the impact of Krishibhagya scheme on beneficiaries of Hyderabad-Karnataka region during the year 2017-18. The present study was conducted in six districts namely Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal and Ballari coming under the jurisdiction of University of Agricultural Sciences Raichur, Karnataka. From each district 5 Krishibhagya beneficiaries (including both Farm pond and Polyhouse) and 5 non beneficiaries were selected randomly following simple random sampling technique.

The Govt. of India focusing on the strategy for improving the livelihood security of the tribal farmers, who are still untouched by the lifestyle of the modern world. Therefore, an attempt was made through this study to find out the extent of livelihood security the tribal farmers through their different means of livelihood generation. Paddy is the principle food crop in North-Eastern region of India. Paddy is an important cultivated crop in the state of Manipur, which is the single largest source of livelihood of about 70 per cent of the population of the state. It is the most cultivated crop in Bishnupur district of Manipur with a cultivated area of 31.48 thousands ha having an average yield of 3.6 MT/ha. Agricultural information influences agricultural productivity in a variety of ways. Agricultural productivity can be improved by relevant, reliable and useful information and knowledge.
