This paper investigates the nonlinear vibration of saturated porous functionally graded plate subjected to the combination of mechanical and thermal loadings. Three different distributions of porosity are considered. Based on the Biot and higher order shear deformation theories, the vibration characteristics including natural frequency, deflection amplitude – time curves and relation between frequency ratio and amplitude of the saturated porous plate are determined.

"Standard Specification for Low-Relaxation, Seven-Wire Steel Strand for Prestressed Concrete" covers two grades of low-relaxation, seven-wire steel strand for use in prestressed concrete construction. Grade 250 [1725] and Grade 270 [1860] have minimum tensile strengths of 250 ksi [1725 MPa] and 270 ksi [1860 MPa], respectively, based on the nominal area of the strand.

An analytical investigation on the nonlinear response of doubly curved panels constructed from homogeneous face sheets and carbon nanotube reinforced composite (CNTRC) core and subjected to external pressure in thermal environments is presented in this paper. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are reinforced into the core layer through uniform or functionally graded distributions.

In this study, a series of Consolidated–Undrained triaxial compression tests were conducted at a constant axial strain rate, with a small unloading and reloading during the monotonic loading to investigate the effect of various densities and curing times on the mechanical properties of Liquefied Stabilized Soil (LSS).

This paper presents an experimental investigation into the tensile strength degradation in curved glass and carbon reinforcement of TRC specimens. The results show that the ultimate tensile load decreases as the diameter of the semi-circle parts reduce. At the same diameter, the carbon TRC specimens have a higher tensile load-bearing capacity than glass textile-reinforced concrete.

In this paper, the finite element models of non-corroded and corroded SFRC beams have been constructed and verified regarding load-displacement curves, crack patterns, and failure modes. Finally, a parametric study also was performed to assess the effect of essential design parameters on the shear strength of SFRC beams under corrosion attacks.

This paper proves that, given a Load-Induced Thermal Strain (LITS) curve able to accurately describe the uniaxial LITS development for a specific type of concrete and temperatures up to 500 °C, a more accurate prediction of the 3D LITS state is obtained through a confinement-dependent 3D implementation than through the classic confinement-independent approach.

The numerical results show a good correlation with the experimental results of the beam specimens, such as load-displacement curves, crack patterns, and failure modes. They allow confirming the capability of the developed FE model to predict the flexural performance of strengthened beams considering CFRP/concrete interfacial behavior.

Four commercial monolithic diesel oxidation catalysts (DOCs) with two different platinum group metal (PGM) loadings and Pt:Pd ratios of 1:0, 2:1, 3:1 (w/w) were investigated systematically for CO, C3H6, and NO oxidation, CO-C3H6 co-oxidation, and COC3H6-NO oxidation reactions via transient activity measurements in a simulated diesel engine exhaust environment. As PGM loading increased, light-off curves shifted to lower temperatures for individual and co-oxidation reactions of CO and C3H6. CO and C3H6 were observed to inhibit the oxidation of themselves and each other.
