The continuous change in microbial sensitivity to antimicrobial agents necessitates to have knowhow of local susceptibility patterns so as to help clinicians choose the right pathogen specific antimicrobial therapies. This retrospective study assessed the phenotypic characteristics of pathogens isolated from different clinical specimens and their susceptibility to some of second line of antibiotics like Ceftriaxone-Sulbactam-EDTA (CSE-1034), Meropenem, Piperacillin-Tazobactam (Pip/Taz) and Cefaperazone-Sulbactam used in our hospital settings.

Urinary tract infections are the commonest infectious disease, seeking medical consultation and antibiotic therapy worldwide. Klebsiella pneumonia is among the most common uropathogen responsible for recurrent infections and it antimicrobial susceptibility to commonly prescribed drugs vary significantly in different regions. Hence, the objective was to analyze the local etiology and antimicrobial susceptibility pattern of urinary K. pneumonia, to optimize the rational empirical therapy.

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most common bacterial illnesses and hence one of the most important indications for antibiotic treatment. Current knowledge of the common organisms implicated in causing UTI in the local community and surveillance to monitor the changes in susceptibility of uropathogens are imperative to ensure appropriate therapy.

Urinary tract infections (UTI) are the second most common infections encountered in clinical practice and is associated with a high rate of morbidity and economic burden. Knowledge of the local antibiotic resistance patterns will help in providing empirical therapy and helps in prevention of resistance. This was a retrospective study conducted from January 2017 to December 2018 at a medical college in South India. Samples received included mid-stream clean catch urine, Catheterized urine, suprapubic aspirate.

Historically, S. aureus has been one of the most common pathogens which caused pyogenic local and systemic infections in both hospitals and community. Methicillin resistance in Staphylococcus aureus is associated with multidrug resistance, an aggressive course, increased mortality and morbidity in both community and health care facilities. This cross sectional study was carried out in a 70 burn patients from May 2016 to July 2018 at DR.S.C.G.M.C, Nanded India. Swabs were taken and cultured for bacterial isolation and identification following standard operative procedures.

Drug therapy has an effect on the management of patients in dentistry. Many drugs produce oro-dental problems; in addition concurrent medication can interact with drugs which the dentist may prescribe. The aim of this dictionary is to draw together the effects of drugs on the teeth, oral and perioral structures and highlight drug interactions which impact on dental treatment. Drugs taken by outpatients which may be encountered in general dental practice and interactions with drugs contained in the Dental Practitioners Formulary have been included.
