In ebook "High- and low-valent tris-N-heterocyclic carbene iron complexes: A study of molecular and electronic structure" high valent iron nitride and oxo species have been proposed as key intermediates in many bio-catalytic transformations, but until now these species have proven exceedingly challenging to isolate and study. Iron complexes in high oxidation states can thus serve as models for iron-containing enzymes to help us understand biological systems or aid our development of more efficient industrial catalysts.

The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of serum iron levels in advanced gastric cancer (GC) patients treated with programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) inhibitors. We retrospectively reviewed 149 GC patients who were treated with PD-1 inhibitors at our center. Clinicopathological characteristics, laboratory data, and clinical outcomes were analyzed.

This practice covers the procedure for designating (within ASTM specifications) standard grades of flat-rolled electrical steels made to specified maximum values of specific core loss. This practice applies to magnetically soft irons and steel (low-carbon steels and alloys of iron with silicon, aluminum, and other alloying elements) where a core loss measurement at a stated peak value of alternating induction and a stated frequency, such as 1.5 T (15 kG) and 60 Hz, is normally used to grade the material.

The magnetoresistive properties of pinned spin valves (SV) and their roles in low-field sensing applications were characterized. The magnetoresistive parameters were extracted, including the exchange bias (Heb) field as a function of the iron content in the CoFe layer and the antiferromagnetic (AFM) thickness, the magnetoresistance (MR) ratio versus the spacer thickness, the coercivity (Hc) as a function of the seed layer, and the composite layer [NiFe/Co] used.

Clean water for drinking and cooking has been a serious issue in rural areas of Vietnam, which is mainly due to high-cost treatment of the available water sources in such areas. In order to reduce the treatment cost, iron impregnated ceramic granules (IICGs) was synthesized using a mixture of locally available montmorillonite and crushed rice husk (with the rice husk size < 0.2 mm, IICGs size 0.2 mm – 0.45 mm).

Aquaculture in the coastal zone has contributed significantly to economic development in Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province. Therefore, water quality for aquaculture plays a vital role in sustainable aquaculture production. In this paper, iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) concentrations in aquaculture coastal water of Giao Thuy district were analyzed during the rainy season (September 2017, August 2018) and dry season at low tide.

Olivine LiFePO4 has been studied for more than a decade as a promising cathode material for rechargeable lithium batteries. However, the low electric conductivity and tap density still hinder its large-scale commercialization. Micro-sized LiFePO4 is prepared by an optimized hydrothermal method in this paper. The influence of postannealing on the physicochemical properties of LiFePO4 and FePO4 is investigated to understand the plausible mechanism for performance degradation.

Copper catalysts were simply fabricated through surface modification of superparamagnetic iron nanoparticles with indoline-2,3-dione(isatin)-Schiff-base and interaction with Cu from low-cost commercially available starting materials. Catalysts were characterized using atomic absorption spectrophotometry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, vibrating sample magnetometry, UV/Vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy.

The arylation reaction of styrene was tested in the presence of different transition metal-based catalysts, mainly iron-based, given its low cost and its nonpolluting and nontoxic characteristics. The study of the effect of sonochemical activation on the evolution of the selectivity of the reaction is also proposed. Higher efficiency was observed for a very short period of time of just a few minutes. Furthermore, an improvement of the selectivity of the arylation of the external carbon of styrene was observed.

The low yield of pulses is mainly attributed to their cultivation on poor soils with inadequate and imbalanced nutrient application without the application of organic manures and micronutrients like boron, zinc and iron. Since the poor soils are low in organic matter content, use of organic manures plays a vital role in improving soil physical condition, provides vital plant nutrients and maintains long term productivity of the soil. Boron helps in carbohydrate transport. It is necessary for the germination of pollen, formation of flowers and fruits and for the absorption of cations.

The soil samples processed and analyzed for different nutrients. Available Micro and Macro nutrients were determined using standard techniques. The overall results showed that the soils are near slightly acidic to moderate alkaline in reaction, low to medium in organic carbon. In general the soils The available nutrients Nitrogen and Potassium were low to medium with the mean values of 287.99 and 149.

Iron is one of the most essential micronutrient for any living cells but the availability of iron is limited due to very low solubility of the dominant ferric iron (Fe3+) in soil. Bacteria can produce low molecular weight iron chelating compound called as siderophore. On account of that, an attempt was made in the present investigation to study the effect of siderophore producing rhizobacteria on growth of Okra and evaluation of biocontrol efficacy of the potential isolates against different phyto-pathogens in-vitro.
