Lycopersici on tomato
-
The present study on the biocontrol activity of actinobacteria and arbuscular mycorrhiza against Fusarium oxysoprum f. sp. lycopersici on tomato plant growth parameter and disease resistance were done.our study further provide insight in biocontrol research.

The interaction between root knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita and the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.lycopersici was studied on tomato cultivar Pusa Ruby under pot house conditions. The effect of the nematode in combination with the fungus enhanced the suppression of plant growth than that of the fungus alone. Inoculation of the nematode and fungus exhibited a synergistic effect on growth retardation of plants. Significant reduction in plant heights in pots with nematode alone (43.77 cm) and fungus alone (43.83 cm) were also recorded, as compared to un-inoculated control (56.23 cm).

Fusarium oxysporum f. Sp lycopersici is the causal organism that causes wilt disease in tomato all over the world. The antifungal activity of aqueous extract of neem leaf (5%), ginger bulb (5%), Lantana camara (5%), Trichoderma harzianum (5%), carbendazim (0.01%) and combination of carbendazim+T. harzianum (0.01+5%) was investigated against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp lycopersici in vitro. The least growth of pathogen was recorded in Carbendazim (treated control) (94.00) followed by Neem leaf (35.20) followed by Lantana camara (31.11), ginger bulb (26.

The chloroform extract of Polygonum minus Huds. was found to exhibit inhibitory effect against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici under laboratory conditions. Hence a new botanical fungicide (Polymin 40 EC) was formulated from the chloroform extract of Polygonum minus Huds. Polymin 40 EC to control the pathogen under in vivo conditions.

Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici [FOL], the pathogen inflicting vascular wilt in tomato, pose a serious threat to the nutritional security. In India, due to lack of proper knowledge on the disease aetiology, the management of the disease becomes difficult. The main objective of this study is to select the most virulent FOL isolate among 7 putative Fusarium isolates, including 2 isolates acquired during field survey. The pathogenicity assay revealed the most virulent isolate TOFU-IHBT that exhibited systemic symptom in tomato plants within 5 days of pathogen inoculation.

The study was conducted in the department of Plant Pathology SHUATS Allahabad (2014) to investigate mycoparasitism inhibitory effects of Trichoderma spp, Pseudomonas sp, neem leaves extract and carbendazim on the growth of the Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici which causes wilt of tomato in-vitro, Trichoderma harzianum, Trichoderma viride, Pseudomonas fluoresens were used @ 2% (dual culture technique) and carbendazim @0.1gm and Neem leaves extract in the ratio of 1:1(poison technique). Among all Trichoderma viride was the best inhibitor of test pathogen (87.
