This practice covers procedures and definitions for estimating ferrite content in certain grades of austenitic ironchromium-nickel alloy castings that have compositions balanced to create the formation of ferrite as a second phase in amounts controlled to be within specified limits. Methods are described for estimating ferrite content by chemical, magnetic, and metallographic means.

These alternating cold-warm X sequences correspond to the Composite Reference Section (CRS) developed in Southern Europe from a X zonation of multiple caves. The paleoclimate characteristics, including the Heinrich H2 and H1 climate events, the Bølling/Allerød, and Younger Dryas warm-cold events, were elucidated for Northern Viet Nam from ~28.000 to ~10.000 yr BP.

The magnetoresistive properties of pinned spin valves (SV) and their roles in low-field sensing applications were characterized. The magnetoresistive parameters were extracted, including the exchange bias (Heb) field as a function of the iron content in the CoFe layer and the antiferromagnetic (AFM) thickness, the magnetoresistance (MR) ratio versus the spacer thickness, the coercivity (Hc) as a function of the seed layer, and the composite layer [NiFe/Co] used.

The hydride samples were subsequently crushed and subjected for further structure characterization by X-ray powder diffraction. The Physical Property Measurement System (PPMS) equipment was used for magnetization, performed in the temperature range 2e300 K and in magnetic fields up to 14 T, using powder samples with grains fixed by a glue in a random orientation.

In this paper, we study the generation of plasmon-polaritons in the epsilon-near-zero nanorod polaritonic metamaterial by using nonlocal effective medium approximation (EMT). We demonstrate theoretically that, in the optical ENZ regime, the spatial dispersion qualitatively changes the optical properties of polaritonic metamaterials and leads to the existence of additional transverse-magnetic-polarized waves that are not described by using the MG EMT.

An environmentally benign synthesis of a magnetically responsive carboxymethylated cellulose nanofibril-based material is reported. Applied experimental conditions lead to the in-situ formation of magnetite nanoparticles with primary particle sizes of 2.0–4.0 nm or secondary particles of 3.6–16.4 nm depending on whether nucleation occurred between individual carboxymethylated cellulose nanofibrils, or on exposed fibril surfaces.

The spectroscopic studies reveal that the GO–Fe 3 O4 nanocomposite is a highly efficient adsorbent for MB removal from aqueous solution, providing an adsorption capacity of 172.6 mg/g, and the equilibrium for MB adsorption is attained in ∼70 min. Moreover, it is a magnetically separable and reusable material for MB removal from water, preserving 87% of its initial efficiency after 5 successive runs.

A magnetic Fe3O4 @ montmorillonite composite was prepared and used for the separation of lead and cadmium from aqueous solutions. For this purpose, magnetite (Fe3O4) was generated by co-precipitation of FeSO4 and FeCl3 onto montmorillonite. The effects of various experimental parameters such as pH of the solution, amount of sorbent, initial concentration of analytes, and contact time on the sorption efficiencies of lead and cadmium ions were investigated and optimized by applying a batch technique.
