The Ethiopian government has introduced several healthcare financing reforms intending to improve efficiency. Piloting implementation of performance-based financing is one of these actions. The purpose of this research is to assess the efficiency of healthcare facilities that have implemented performance-based financing compared to those that have not.

The aim of this study is to assess the performance and the efficiency of the aviation industry in the Asia-Pacific region through two-stage Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). In the first stage, the relative efficiency was measured through a Window model in DEA. Then, at the second stage, the efficiency improvement was examined by the Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI).

This paper aims to measures the productivity growth and its components within the Indian high tech and medium high tech industries by employing a non-parametric-Malmquist productivity index over the period of 2008–2018. The findings of this study show that the productivity growth of both high tech and medium high tech industries is increasing over the time.

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of energy access based on the indicators of the seventh sustainable developmet goals (SDGs) in 50 countries that are members of the OIC during the period 2010-2017. Efficiency measurements are carried out using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. The productivity measurement is done by using the Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI). This paper examines the trends in rice and maize productivity growth in Andhra Pradesh. A nonparametric data envelopment analysis (DEA) programming method is used to compute Malmquist productivity indices. For study, time-series data on cost of cultivation of selected crops were collected from the reports of Commission on Agricultural Costs and Prices for the period 1996-97 to 2014-15. The results revealed that the decomposition of the TFPch for the corresponding years into EFFch and TECHch revealed that 48.8 per cent increase in TFPch was due to improvement in the technology used.

Using non-performing loans as a bad output, this study will measure and analyse the productivity of Vietnam’s banks during the period from 2007−2014. The Malmquist-Luenberger index is utilised to measure the productivity of Vietnamese banking system. The results show an outperformance of publicly owned banks over their private counterparts and a deterioration of bank productivity due to technical regress.

The study used meta- frontier framework, data envelopment analysis approach and the global Malmquist total factor productivity index to analyse technical efficiency and productivity change as well as its components of Vietnamese textile and garment firms during 2013-2015. The results show that: (i) The total factor productivity of Vietnamese textile and garment firms fell in the period 2013-2015, and technical change is the main reason to constraint productivity growth. (ii) The private garment sector has taken real effort to improve technology.

This paper shows that the global crisis had a late effect on Thai banks as the TFP only dropped in 2010. While the local banks maintained their stable, foreign banks were more fluctuating – some improved their TFPs, some did not and become worst performers in the system.
