Management functions

Planning involves selecting a course of action and specifying how the action will be implemented. The first step in planning is to identify the various alternatives. Next, the alternative that does the best job of furthering the organization’s objectives is selected. Management’s plans are usually expressed in budgets. Typically, budgets are prepared annually under the direction of the controller, who is the manager of the accounting department.

The first goal is to provide simple and efficient authorization specifications to reduce the complexity of security management. It is based on the results from an empirical study with involving 84 interviewees from different companies located in different host countries. The interviewees were managers mainly from Malaysian, Australian, and Singaporean companies that operated internationally. The duration of the interviews was in average of 1 hour 30 minutes.
