Insect pest is one of the major Earias vittella is one of the important pest of okra and its management is also difficult for its insecticidal resistance mechanism though few chemical and bioagent are effective against fruit borer. Insecticidal like quinalphos, monocrotophos, fenvalerate, deltamethrin, Flubendiamide etc. are effective to manage this insect. Combination of these insecticides is also effective and also able to overcome Insecticidal resistance mechanism.

Seven insecticides tested against fruit borer, Helicoverpa armigera of tomato, Solanum lycopersicum under field condition. The efficiency of insecticides was similar effective after both sprays as indoxacarb 14.5SC > novaluron 10EC > spinosad45 EC > rynaxypyr 20SC > nske 5% > nimbicidine 5% > neemoil 1% against reduction in fruit infestation. The maximum increased seed yield (45.00 q/ha) recorded from Indoxacarb 14.5 SC treated plots. The maximum cost benefit was return from Indoxacarb 14.5 SC treatment, Rs. 16 after per rupee investment.

Shoot and fruit borer (Leucinodes orbonalis G.) is one of the most destructive pests in brinjal in South Asia. Studies on effectiveness of different chemical insecticides against shoot and fruit borer causes 20 – 60% yield reduction was evaluated under field condition at Agricultural College and Research Institute, Killikulam, Thoothakudi during kharif from July 2018 to October 2018. Shoot and fruit infestation were minimum in Spinosad 45 SC treated plots with the per cent of 9.94 in shoots and 11.71 in fruits when compared to the untreated check (30.99%).
