The bioefficacy of antagonist and botanical extract were tested in vitro against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ricini causing wilt of castor. Trichoderma harzianum (72.22%), T. viride (70.37%) and Pseudomonas fluorescens appeared potent antagonist against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ricini followed by T. faciculatum, T. longibrachyatum and Bacillus subtilis. Among the botanical, the extract of turmeric rhizome was effective in inhibiting mycelial growth 42.22 Per cent followed by 36.67 per cent inhibition by leaves extract of marigold.

Trichoderma spp. is biocontrol agents extensively used in management of fungal diseases of crop plants exhibiting mycoparasitism against a wide range of plant pathogens. Twelve Trichoderma isolates T. asperellum (7), T. harzianum (4) and T. longibrachiatum collected from ten district of U.P from chilli ecosystem were characterized for their antagonistic activity against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. capsici and Colletotrichum capsici of chilli. The isolates revealed differential reaction pattern against the test pathogens.

All the three bicontrol agents were found to be compatible with each other. Among the various oilcake extracts tested, mahua cake (10%) inhibited the mycelial growth of F. oxysporum to an extent of 60.77 per cent. The crude antibiotic extracted from Pf1 showed maximum growth inhibition of F. oxysporum up to 63.33 per cent.

Several biotic and abiotic constraints significantly reducing the chickpea area and production over last two decades. Among biotic stresses, fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri (Foc) is the major soil-borne fungus affecting chickpea production globally. Silkworm gut bacterial isolates were identified by using 16S rRNA gene sequence data analysis. Total viable count, spore count and spore percentage were tested on selective NA medium and recorded at different hours interval. The highest value of total viable count was recorded (420 x 108CFU/ml), spore count was higher (100 x 108CFU/ml) after 72 h of inoculation.

Integration of different methods for suitable management of Fusarium wilt revealed that the minimum disease severity was found in case of soil application with Mushroom spent + combined seedling treatment with T. harzianum, Azotobacter and Rhizobium + first foliar application with Benfil (Carbendazim) + second foliar application with Matco (Metalaxyl + Mancozeb), representing the value 6.50% as against 54.65 per cent in case of control. Growth promoting effect of plants has also been noticed due to application of IDM practices.
