The results showed that soybean planted early (i.e. mid-June) suffered less PSB attack resulting in low seed damage and high yields. This suggests that mid-June is the best period to plant soybean to avoid PSBs for maximum yields in northern Ghana.

Eco-friendly IPM module for the management of major sucking pests of cotton was demonstrated in the farmer‟s field. Eco-friendly IPM module has significantly reduced the sucking pests population. The leafhoppers population was low (1.5 number / 3 leaves) in the demo plots and it was high (4.2 numbers/ 3 leaves) in the check plots. Similarly the aphids, thrips, whitefly and mealy bug population were low in the demo plots when compared to the check plots.

The citrus psyllid, Diaphorina citri Kuwayama, is the most important pest of citrus worldwide because it serves as a vector of Candidatus Liberibacter species that cause citrus greening disease. The nymphs and adults suck cell sap causing curling of leaves, defoliation, flower drop and death of branches from t to downwards which is known as die back. The peak population found usually in March-April and August-September.

The main aim of the study was to reduce the maximum use of pesticides, these pesticides increases pest resurgence, environmental pollution and toxic residue in food. Efforts were being made to encourage those pest management practices which are ecofriendly. Pooled mean of both the years during 2016 and 2017 revealed that minimum population of leafhopper nymphs was recorded in cotton intercropped with bajra as border crop (2.47 nymphs/leaf) and maximum population was recorded in sole cotton (3.54 nymphs/leaf).

Okra is the major crop grown all over India. India is the largest producer of okra in the world with the largest productivity. The crop is susceptible to a wide range of sucking pests hence there is an indiscriminate usage of pesticide on okra. A detailed survey was conducted to analyze the pest and pesticide status of okra growing farmers of Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi districts. The survey reported that the higher number of farmers was found to use imidacloprid 17.8 SL for the management of sucking pests on okra.

Bio-efficacy of newer molecules of insecticides against sucking pests of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) was studied during July to October 2016, at Reasearch farm, College of agriculture, Kolhapur. Groundnut crop was infested by Jassid (Empoasca kerri Pruthi), Thrips (Scirtotharips dorsalis Hood). The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with eight treatment and three replications with view to find out the effective insecticides against sucking pest of groundnut at Agronomy field, college of agriculture Kolhapur during Rabi 2016-17.

Blackgram is a major kharif pulse crop in Kota district of Rajasthan, which covers more than 25 percent acreage of kharif sown area of the district. However, average yield of the district varying between 5-7.25 q ha-1 which can be enhanced up to 10 q ha-1 or more by the adoption of new varieties and recommended agro-techniques. To demonstrate improved production technologies, cluster front-line demonstrations were conducted on blackgram crop by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kota, during kharif 2016 to 2018 on 260 farmer fields of the district.

The present in vitro studies on bio-efficacy of granular, oil based and wettable powder formulations on various sucking pests were carried out at Entomology laboratory, Institute of Organic Farming (IOF), University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. Among different formulations evaluated viz., rice bran oil (60 %) + corn oil (40%) formulation found least LC50 value against corn aphids (0.182 x106 cfu / ml), grape vine mealy bug (0.560 x 106 cfu / ml), cotton thrips (0.591 x 106 cfu / ml), and guava whitefly (0.942 x 106 cfu / ml). The olive oil formulation recorded least LC50 value 0.
