Part 2 book "Infectious diseases of dromedary camels - A concise guide" includes content: Paratuberculosis (johne´s disease), pasteurellosis (hemorrhagic septicemia), rickettsial diseases, salmonellosis, tetanus (clostridium tetani), tuberculosis, yersinia pestis (camel plague), ringworm (dermatomycosis), aspergillosis, candidiasis (moniliasis),... and other contents.

Sarcoptic mange in one humped-camels (Camelus dromedaries) caused by Sarcoptes scabiei var cameli is considered to be one of the most obstinate and economically important zoonotic and epizootic disease that can be spread among animals via direct physical contact with infested animal and indirectly through fomites (e.g., ropes, blankets and saddlery) especially in tropical and subtropical areas (Singh, 2005; Parsani et al., 2008; Wilson, 2008). The present paper demonstrates the successful therapeutic management of sarcoptic mange in camels.

Based on clinical examination and laboratory findings, the camel is administered with microcyclic lactone such as ivermectin or doramectin along with multivitamins and minerals supplement (Palanivelrajan et al., 2015).

Ten camels showing typical clinical lesions of itching, pruritus, biting and rubbing against objects, alopecia, erythema, keratinization, thickening, corrugations and wrinkling of the skin, exudation and bleeding, fissured skin and scab formation were identified. The skin scrapings were collected from the edges of skin lesions in clean small size plastic jars separately, each duly marked for identification of the individual animal. Sarcoptes scabiei var cameli mites were identified on the basis of their characteristic morphological features.
