Manufacturing firms? Evidences from Vietnam

The study in this paper utilizes Vietnamese firm-level data to investigate the relationship between trade liberalization and the productivity performance of Vietnam’s manufacturing sector. The data covers the years 2007 to 2016 when substantial trade liberalization took place. The semi-parametric approach developed by Levinsohn and Petrin (2003) is used to control for simultaneity bias in the estimation of a production function and to obtain TFP estimates.

The purpose of this study is to examine if CSR practices have a correlation with companies’ performance of the twenty Vietnamese firms. Despite a large number of studies on CSR with the sole focus on emerging economies, this concept in the specific Vietnamese market has yet to receive apprehension and qualified research. Therefore, this paper provides a quantitative approach to study the relationship between CSR and financial performance of Vietnamese firms in three distinct sectors: banking, real estate and food manufacturing.

This study investigates determinants of the adoption of SMA in VMEs and its impact on VMEs’ operating performance. The quantitative method is applied to test the proposed research model and hypotheses. In particular, in this stage, we collect data using questionnaires, then analyze the collected data by using SPSS and AMOS.

This study investigates the role, characteristics of firm locating in IP and using econometrics model to investigate the impact of firm locating within IPs on its labor productivity. The results prove that IP locating firms account a small percentage in total number of manufacturing firms in Vietnam but play considerable role for manufacturing sector in general and for manufacturing foreign investment in special. Locating in IP has quite significant positive effect on firm's labor productivity.
