  • Amorphous cerium phosphate was prepared and characterized. Three-level Box-Behnken design (BBD) was employed to analyze the effect of process variables such as initial pH (2–6), contact time (60–180 min), and sorbent amount (0.05–0.15 g) on the sorption capacity of europium. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed that the main effect of initial pH and sorbent amount has a substantial impact on the sorption of Eu(III). Probability F-value (F = 3 × 10 −3 ) and correlation coefficient (R2 = 0.97) point out that the model is in good accordance with experimental data.

  • Association and path coefficient analysis was computed on 96 genotypes of Sesamum (Sesamum indicum L.). Seed yield was positively correlated with plant height, number of branches per plant, number of capsules per plant, capsule length and 1000 seed weight. Selection based onplant height, number of branches per plant, number of capsules per plant and capsule length would increase seed yield. Path analysis indicated that number of capsules per plant had the maximum direct effect followed by plant height, capsule length and height to first capsule.

  • The climatic parameters such as Rainfall, mean daily temperature, Wind Speed, relative humidity are spatial and changing with time space and position. That directly affects the availability of basic resources such as surface runoff, vegetation, soil health and quality needed for betterment of sustainability of human being. The predicting the surface runoff is complex and uncertain. It depended of these climatic parameters. Hence, their behaviour needed to be understood before putting in the hydrologic model.

  • Rice false smut [Ustilaginoidea virens (Cooke) Takahashi] is an upcoming major disease in India. The initiation of the disease was recorded the 88th day after sowing and 9th September in 2017 and 86th day after sowing and 14th September in 2018. The incidence of false smut starts from 1.55 per cent at 36 MSW and reached to 7.22 per cent at 42 MSW in 2017 while, 0.53 per cent at 37 MSW and reached to 6.68 per cent at 42 MSW in 2018.However, in pooled of two years, the first symptom of false smut was recorded on 36 MSW (0.77%) and reached to 42MSW (6.95%).

  • Fifteen gynoecious parthenocarpic hybrids hybrids/lines of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) were evaluated under polyhouse (fifty percent shade/naturally ventilated) conditions for yield and quality. The genotypic and phenotypic coefficient of variations were highest for nodal position of first female flower, number fruits, fruit weight and fruit yield per plant which indicates maximum variability is existing in the genotypes. High genetic advance as per cent mean was observed for most of the characters, indicating that these characters are controlled by additive gene action.
