  • An experiment was carried in factorial concept with two factors i.e., varieties at two levels and rooting media at eight levels thus making 16 combinations which were replicated twice. The effect of varieties, rooting media and their interactions were found to be significant on different rooting parameters. Among the rooting media, the greatest percentage of rooted cuttings was recorded by M8 – soil:vermicompost : coco peat : saw dust (1:1:1:1) v/v + mycorrhiza.

  • The present experiment was conducted to standardize an efficient protocol for rapid multiplication of an important cultivar Kufri Lima. The findings showed that the surface sterilization with 0.2% Bavistin + 0.4% streptocyclin for 45 minutes followed by 0.1% HgCl2 treatment for 55 seconds was optimum for in vitro culture establishment and maximum survival percentage.

  • The experiment consist of six growing media viz. (M1) soil (M2) soil + sand (1:1), (M3) soil + sand + vermicompost (1:1:1), (M4) soil + vermicompost (1:1), (M5) soil + sand + azotobacter (1:1+5g/ kg AZO), (M6) soil + sand + vermicompost + azotobacter (1:1:1+5g/kg AZO) and three concentration of gibberellic acid i.e. (G1) water soaking, (G2) GA3 50 ppm, (G3) GA3 100ppm having 18 treatment combinations. Among the growing media, soil + sand + azotobacter (1:1+5g/ kg AZO) and among the seed treatment, GA3 (50ppm) were proved most promising as compare to others.
