  • This research will determine the actuarially fair premium rate, both theoretically and using the data of rice harvest yield in Central Java Province from 1990-2017. The calculation, employing the rice harvest yield data, results in the premium rate. The farmers must pay for each hectare from IDR 56,000 (minimum) to IDR 161,600 (maximum) with an average value of IDR 110,750.Meanwhile,the standard deviation principle used, the premium results between IDR 78,151 and IDR 143,349.

  • Most common reason for the waterlogging problem in the agricultural field is absence of an adequate drainage system. The sustainability of farm operations are highly vulnerable due to fluctuations in rainfall. Thus, the estimation of drainage design layout and identification of the vulnerable area for waterlogging are the most vital operations for achieving maximum yield of paddy inland. In this study, the Cypress creek formula‘s used for estimating discharge of each plot.

  • Sustainable Sugarcane Initiative (SSI) is one of the advanced methods of sugarcane cultivation technique which involves the use of less seed setts, water, land, labour and optimum utilization of fertilizers to achieve maximum potential yield. The SSI is an alternative to conventional method of sugarcane cultivation. The field demonstrations were conducted in farmer’s field at five different locations to study the effect of sustainable sugarcane initiative and conventional sugarcane cultivation under drip irrigation system during 2017–2018.

  • Agriculture is the major livelihood activity of majority of rural population in Uttar Pradesh. Sustained growth in agricultural production and productivity is essential for over all sustainability of the state economy. It is, therefore necessary to analyze the agriculture production pattern and performance of agriculture crops in Uttar Pradesh. This paper deals with analysis of cropping pattern, production pattern and growth rate of agricultural crops in Uttar Pradesh. Cropping pattern was found to be biased towards water intensive crops like rice, wheat and sugarcane.

  • Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is the most important cereal crop in the world and is the staple food of over half the world’s population. In intensive cropping systems, maintenance of soil fertility is the major criteria to sustain the crop yields for longer period of time. In these systems, they deplete substantial amount of nutrients from the soil throughout year. For maintaining fertility status of soil on a long run, we should dependent on the different nutrient sources rather than single source chemical fertilizers.

  • Xylanase is an industrially significant enzyme and its production from pure xylan is expensive. The objective of the current study is to utilise sustainable cost effective substrates -coconut oil cake, corn cob, sugarcane bagasse and water hyacinth, for xylanase production. Streptomyces sp. ER1 isolated from the sediments of Cochin estuary was used for xylanase production. The cultural and nutritional conditions for higher xylanase production using the four substrates were optimised using one factor at a time method. Data were analysed by one way ANOVA.

To approximate the effects of strain hardening, a flow stress cr0, taken to be an average of the yield and ultimate strengths, is often used when computing the plastic collapse stress. The plastic collapse stress ac is that applied stress which produces cr0 across the remaining uncracked ligament, and is the maximum applied stress that a perfectly plastic material can sustain. This stress may be determined using a limit load analysis.
