This article presents an evaluation of the early-age thermal characteristics of mass concrete piers with four distinct cross-sectional shapes.

Development of forecast guidance is one of main activities of Output 3 of the JICA Project to improve forecasting services of VNMHA. Maximum and minimum temperature guidance was developed for 63 cities up to 10 days ahead in the first phase of the Project. Development of precipitation guidance was the primary activity of Output 3 in the second phase of the Project.

In this study seasonal changes in the geochemical and stable isotope compositions of Hisaralan thermal waters in Simav Graben, western Turkey, were investigated with regards to a variety of mineral-water interactions and mixing processes. The Hisaralan and Emendere geothermal waters, with temperatures of up to 99 °C, were mostly of Na-HCO3 and Ca-HCO3 types. The δ18O and δ2 H values of the Hisaralan waters ranged from –9.32‰ to –8.73‰ and –65.02‰ to –61.10‰, with maximum seasonal differences of 0.3‰ and 1.8‰. Oil was extracted from moringa (PKM-1) seed kernel by using supercritical fluid (SCCO2) extraction process. Supercritical fluid pressures of 100, 150 and 200 bar and temperatures of 40, 50 and 60 °C were considered for SC-CO2 extraction process. Maximum extraction yield of 37.76 g/100g and extraction efficiency of 98.43% were obtained at supercritical fluid pressure of 200 bar and temperature of 40 °C.

By pre-treating potato strips in different conditions of enzyme concentrations, pH, temperature and frying time, the effects of these parameters on acrylamide levels in fried products were evaluated by measuring UV-Vis spectra of sample solutions containing acrylamide. The maximum absorbance values at 224 nm were used to determine the acrylamide concentrations by calculation from a calibration curve.

In this paper, we present the effects of subtituting elements of M (Ti, Si and Nb) and annealing temperatures on the structure and magnetic properties of Co79-xZr18+x-yMyB3 alloy ribbons (x = 0 - 2, y = 0 - 4). Hard magnetic properties of the alloy ribbons can be strengthened so significantly as a coercivity of Hc > 4 kOe and maximum energy product of (BH)max > 3.5 MGOe with an appropriate concentration of Ti, Si or Nb and annealing process.

The maximum lag effects were 3 weeks for temperature and humidity, 4 weeks for precipitation, and 6 weeks for SOI. Specifically, the relative risk of HFMD increased by 7.2 % for every 1°C increase .in temperature, 6.75 % for every 1 % increase in humidity, 6.32 % for every 5 mm increase in precipitation, 4.42 % for every 5 units increase in SOI. The optimum conditions obtained from response surface analysis was 4.99 g/100 g moisture, 1.05 mm particle size and 9.2 h extraction time. Under these optimum conditions, the maximum fat yield was 37.35 g/100 g. The extracted fat was a white solid at room temperature. Influences of electrodeposition parameters and anealling temperature on magnetic properties of the electrodeposited thin film CoNi were investigated. Results show that coercive force Hc attains the maximum value when the concentration ratio of metals in the electrolyte is [Co2+] : [Ni 2+] = 0.2 : 0.8 ÷ 0.4 : 0.6. The presence of Sacharin in electrolyte enhances the coercive force (Hc) of the electrodeposited layer. The increase of layer thickness results the decrease of Hc.

Study of the effect of Nd substitution for La on magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of polycrystalline perovskites (La1-xNdx)0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (x = 0.0, 0.2 , 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 ) is presented. Large MCE is observed in all samples.
