In order to make a reliable QPE product, a quality check for rain gauge data comparing mutual rain gauge data experimented and 1) missing data ratio, 2) proportion to mean of nearly ten stations, and 3) double sum curve check was selected as thresholds to select relatively reliable rain gauge stations. As a result of the quality check for rain gauge data in May 2023, 1,299 stations were chosen, and QPE with rain gauges selected showed stable precipitation distribution.

The paper considers the project team management models, since they are most difficult to formalize in the areas of knowledge in project management. The study presents economic and mathematical models for managing the project team of threshold collective behavior using the example of the crew of a sea ship.

The objective of the paper was to characterise the climatology of surface temperature in the mid-winter months (DJF) in the northern part of Vietnam in the years 1971-2016 and determine the abnormal mid-winter warm spells and their statistic characteristics basing given criteria. The results shown that abnormal warm spells occur in January when the daily average air temperature is greater than 3o C in comparison with the given standard threshold (the sum of the climatological everage and standard deviation values of monthly mean temperature).

Genetic gain in Testcrosses derived from heat tolerant multi-parental synthetic populations of maize
Heat stress due to prolonged high ambient temperature during critical growth stages is a serious threat to crop production worldwide. Though being a C4 crop, maize has relatively wider adaptation, however, weather extremes such as heat stress is challenging its threshold limits. There is an absolute requirement of heat tolerant cultivars in the present condition as climate change has a become reality.

This paper examines the statistical relationship between banks’ return on equity on one hand, and their size (as measured by inflation-adjusted total assets) and capital structure on the other, using uses a set of panel data collected by the first author in 2014. The empirical approach applied allows for heterogeneity across observational units as well as nonlinearity and non-additivity in the conditional mean function, thus facilitating the identification of more complex forms of structural dependence that might remain undetected when using classical linear regression techniques.

Hansen’s (1999) panel threshold regression model is applied in this study to investigate the correlation between bank size and bank earnings volatility in 14 Chinese banks. These data were adopted after the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy was announced in 2009Q4. The data used in this study cover the period from 2009Q1 to 2013Q1. The dependent variable is bank earnings volatility, whereas bank size is the independent and threshold variable. Empirical results show the significance of a single threshold on bank size and return on asset (ROA) earnings volatility.

Microwave remote sensing or SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) data has been employed extensively to map open water bodies and to monitor flood extents, where cloud cover often prohibits the use of satellite sensors operating at other wavelengths. Where total inundation occurs, a low backscatter return is expected due to the specular reflection of SAR signal on the water surface. However, low local incidence angle and wind induced waves can cause a roughening of the water surface which result in a high return signal.

In this article, the authors present a new approach to the classification of land cover by using multi-temporal Sentinel-1A data. The experience data are single-pole (VV) in Interferometric Wide Swath mode (IW) collected from December 2014 to October 2015 along descending orbit over Hanoi, Vietnam. Decision tree method is applied base on analyzing threshold of standard deviation, mean backscatter value of land cover patterns, and combining double-crop rice classification image.

This paper presents the packaging of high-power laser diode modules from single chip, evaluating the electro-optical characteristics and the beam quality of the modules. The obtained results show that the packaged module has an output optical power of 5 W at current 5.9 A; the Operation Voltage is 1.7 V; the Threshold Current is 1,0 A; the Divergence Angle Mean is 36.8 degree and the Asymmetry is 1.04.

The available evidence suggests that they are not. Every five years, the Census Bureau conducts its nationwide Survey of Business Owners. The SBO samples privately held, nonfarm businesses of all ages, from recently founded to many years in existence. Using SBO data, the American Express OPEN report for 2011 found that just 1.8 percent of women-owned firms had revenues more than $1 million. The figure for men-owned firms was 6.3 percent In public perception, the $1 million threshold has become a sort of magic number.

The BED method responds to the issue of “regression to the mean” or the tendency for a firm to revert to its relatively steady-state size after a shock of growth or decline. However, one could view the SUSB methodology of counting all of a growth or decline for a firm based on the start size as more appropriate. It is interesting to note that only a handful of firms cross the size threshold of 500 employees in any given year, and fewer still in a quarter; but these firms can have a discernible impact on net job creation...

To receive the earned income credit, taxpayers file their regular tax re- turn and fill out the six-line Schedule EIC that gathers information about qualifying children. The EITC is refundable, meaning that it is paid out by the Treasury regardless of whether the taxpayer has any federal income tax liability. There are several basic tests for EITC eligibility. The taxpayer must have both earned and adjusted gross income below a threshold that varies by year and by family size. Most EITC payments go to taxpayers with at least one “qualifying child.

There are mainly four types of segmentation techniques, namely global thresholding, boundary-based segmentation, region-based segmentation, and mixed segmentation. Seeded Region Growing is an integrated method brought up by Adams and Bischof [4-13], in which few initial seeds are generated, and more similar neighboring regions are then combined to achieve region growing [14-21]. In addition, the method of unsupervised vector seeded region growing suitable for medical multi-spectral images was established.

Fundamental Requirements of Effective Preventive/Predictive Maintenance could eliminate almost 98% of the failures. Note the word “proper,” meaning that no new problems are injected. That also means, however, that costs will be higher than need be since components will be replaced before the end of their useful life, and more labor is required. Once the threshold set point has been determined, it should be monitored to detect when it is exceeded. The investment in monitoring depends on the period over which deterioration may occur, means of detection, and benefit value.

Assuring quality. Accreditation is the primary means by which colleges, universities and programs assure quality to students and the public. Accredited status is a signal to students and the public that an institution or program meets at least threshold standards for its faculty, curriculum, student services and libraries. Accredited status is conveyed only if institutions and programs provide evidence of fiscal stability.
