An approach on the prediction of sound transmission loss for finite clamped composite sandwich plates with foam core is described in the paper. Sandwich plates are treated as being orthotropic and the apparent bending stiffness is calculated for the two principle directions. The apparent bending stiffness of sandwich plate is estimated by finite element calculation on beam elements cut from the sandwich plate.

This study has established and calibrated a three-dimensional system model with a combination of hydraulics-waves and suspended sediment transport with measured data in the study area. Based on the calculated scenarios for the flood and the dry seasons, the results show the occurrence of MTZs in the riparian zone of the Mekong river with typical suspended sediment concentrations (SSC) ranging from 0.04–1.0 kg/m3 dry season and 0.2–1.1 kg/m3 flood season.

In the present report, a novel concept of frequency response function (FRF) is introduced for piezoelectric beam. First, a model of Timoshenko beam bonded with a piezoelectric layer is established and used for deriving the conventional frequency response function acknowledged as mechanical frequency response function (MERF). Then, the output charge produced in the piezoelectric layer is calculated from the MFRF and therefore obtained frequency-dependent function is called electrical frequency response function (EFRF) for the integrated beam.

The experimental flux-weighted average cross section is compared with the theoretical prediction, for which the absolute cross section was calculated using the TALYS 1.95 code and the bremsstrahlung spectrum was simulated using the computer program MCNPX. The present experiment was carried out at the 100 MeV electron linac of the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory, POSTECH, Pohang, Korea.

Increase in the sales and profits and market share of the economic unit and satisfaction of the customer are achieved through the effective the management of these costs. This paper combines a heterodyne interferometer and a real-time SDR phase meter, demonstrating an ultrasonic vibration instrument’s high-speed vibrating measurement capabilities. A double-pass interferometer is implemented to produce interference signals modulated with a sine waveform phase change associated with a tool’s ultrasonic vibrating displacement, calculated by the phase meter’s quadrature demodulation algorithm.

HDI is calculated with regards to three aspects of education, longevity and income. Although, until now, HDI has its own drawbacks that need special attention. This aim of this study is to measure the technical efficiency score and identify the factors that affect the technical efficiency in plastic manufacturing firm in Malaysia for the year 2015 using the two stage Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. The first stage involves calculating the efficiency score through the DEA using firm-level data, provided by the Department of Statistics, Malaysia. In the second stage, Tobit Regression Analysis was used to identify the significant factors affecting the efficiency of the plastic industry.

The article evaluates the effectiveness of measures of supply chain management and national fiscal policies aimed at stimulating oil production in several countries (the USA, Canada, Brazil, Norway and Russia). Calculations were carried out with the ε-KAM mathematical model using the data for the period from 2010 to 2016. The model includes the following: the input indicators are budget transfers and tax benefits for oil producers, and the output indicators are the average annual volumes of oil production.

This study emphasizes to measure the effect of service quality on purchase intention with mediating role of store image. The study majorly focused on paint brands available at stores of Manama, Bahrain. Reliability of data, descriptive analysis and Pearson correlation matrix was calculated by using SPSS. The relationship among study variables is tested trough structural equation modeling. Results highlighted that there is significant and positive relation between service quality and purchase intention of private label paint brands.

Effective supply chain management of the active development process of the social economy requires the use of separate tools to measure the level of social entrepreneurship, including the state of the environment in which enterprises are created. In this regard, the author proposes a method for assessing the level of the social entrepreneurship development in the macro-region.
