  • Born from multidisciplinary roots that include logistics, marketing, management, and sociology, SCM has developed into a distinct field of study over the past fifty years. SCM theory has only recently reached a state of maturation where it produces operationalisable concepts and tools, but progress is being made in advancing both the overarching field of SCM and the specific issues that fall under the SCM umbrella. The authors investigated supply chain strategy as an active longevity’s policy and quality of life of elderly population in the Russian Federation.

  • In this study, two models were proposed: a five-stage SISP maturity model for defining SISP maturity and another one for assessing the degree of SISP maturity. The five SISP maturity levels were defined as: Rudimentary Planning, Ineffectual Planning, Attainable Planning, Sustainable Planning, and Adaptable Planning. The assessment model was structured as a third-order system, where eight first-order dimensions were termed as Form and Content, Collaboration, Policies, Stakeholders' Designation, Knowledge Bank, Technology, Time Dimension, and Viability.

  • Lecture The economics of Money, Banking and Financial markets: Chapter 4 Understanding Interest Rates. After studying this chapter you should be able to: detail the present value concept and the meaning of the term interest rate; discern among the ways of measuring the interest rate: the yield to maturity, the current yield, and the yield on a discount basis; illustrate how bond prices and interest rates are negatively related: when interest rates rise, bond prices fall, and vice versa;…

  • Single-molecule RNA fluorescence in situ hybridization (smFISH) provides unparalleled resolution in the measurement of the abundance and localization of nascent and mature RNA transcripts in fixed, single cells. We developed a computational pipeline (BayFish) to infer the kinetic parameters of gene expression from smFISH data at multiple time points after gene induction.

  • A new microsporidian pathogen isolated from Crepidodera aurata was identified based on morphological and ultrastructural characteristics, coupled with a molecular phylogenetic analysis. The spores of the microsporidian pathogen were slightly curved in shape, and measured 2.44–3.55 µm in length and 1.25–1.55 µm in width (n = 50). Its ultrastructure is characteristic of monokaryotic groups. All lifecycle stages of the pathogen, including meronts, sporonts, sporoblasts, and mature spores, are monokaryotic. The spore has 6–8 windings of the polar filament.

  • Despite the convergence of rapid technological advances in genomics and the maturing field of ecoimmunology, our understanding of the genes that regulate immunity in wild populations is still nascent. Previous work to assess immune function has relied upon relatively crude measures of immunocompetence.

  • Activin-A may exert pro- or anti-tumorigenic activities depending on cellular context. However, little is known about its role, or the other mature activin proteins, in colorectal carcinoma (CRC). This study measured the expression of activin βA- & βB-subunits, activin type IIA & IIB receptors, smads 2/3/4/6/7 and follistatin in CRC induced by azoxymethane (AOM) in rats.

  • The study was conducted to evaluate the performance of 100 maize hybrids and to assess the association between yield and yield component traits of maize hybrids. The Experiment was carried out in randomized complete block designs (RCBD) with three replications in 2017 main cropping season. The analysis of variance revealed significant differences between hybrids for all measured parameters. The highest and lowest grain yield were recorded for VH132059 (11.11ton/ha) and VH141651 (6.06 ton/ha) respectively.

  • The mango fruit fly Bactocera dorsalis (Hendel) (Diptera: Tephnidae) is believed to be the single most devastative pest of mango in Bihar. It accounts for about 27 per cent of harvesting loss. The flies attack semi ripe and mature fruits during the months of April and May. On Farm Trail conducted at 14 farmers plot of Kishanganj district, fly monitoring and fruit infestation estimation were recorded during the two experimental seasons 2012- 13 and 2013-14.

  • Dates are tropical fruits with appreciable nutritional value. Previous attempts at global metabolic characterization of the date metabolome were constrained by small sample size and limited geographical sampling. In this study, two independent large cohorts of mature dates exhibiting substantial diversity in origin, varieties and fruit processing conditions were measured by metabolomics techniques in order to identify major determinants of the fruit metabolome.

  • Nutrition in the grapevine is a specific agrotechnical measure affecting the quantity and quality of grape production and its products. Proper nutrition has a great influence on the many biochemical and physiological processes that happen in various grapevine organs. Among the macro-elements, potassium has a very important role in the development of the vital processes of the vine. This element has the most important influence on maturation processes and increases the resistance of the vine to low winter temperatures.

  • Pea powdery mildew is an air-borne disease of worldwide distribution. It is particularly damaging in late sowings or in late maturing varieties. It is caused by Erysiphe pisi. In order to bring residue free peas, there is need to manage these diseases through ecofriendly measures such as by using the chitosan which is antifungal as well as induces resistance in plants. GI chitosan is a deacetylated derivative of chitin obtained by gamma irradiation of chitosan.
