The purpose of the study is to quantify breast dose to reassure patients and staff that these understandings still apply. A combination of measurements and simulations were used to estimate absorbed breast dose. Gafchromic® XR-QA2 film was used to measure breast dose placed inside the RANDO® phantom in a series of controlled experiments. The RANDO® is an anthropomorphic phantom commonly used for dosimetry investigations. Gafchromic® XR QA2 film is a radiochromic film that changes colour when irradiated. Simulation is commonly used and readily available.

By pre-treating potato strips in different conditions of enzyme concentrations, pH, temperature and frying time, the effects of these parameters on acrylamide levels in fried products were evaluated by measuring UV-Vis spectra of sample solutions containing acrylamide. The maximum absorbance values at 224 nm were used to determine the acrylamide concentrations by calculation from a calibration curve.

Radiochemical Neutron Activation Analysis (RNAA) for gold determination in sulfide ores was studied. The sample was ignited in a porcelain for one hour at 600o C and dissolved then with aqua regia. The gold was absorbed on an ion exchange resin AG 1 × 8 in medium 1N HCl. The resin sample was then irradiation in Da Lat nuclear reactor with neutron flux about 2.4× 1012 n/cm2 s. The radioactivity of gold was measured by Au-198 isotope on a detector GeHP connected Multichannel analyser (MCA) and PC pentum 586.

The protective role of reactive oxygen scavengers against photodamage was studied in isolated photosystem (PS) I submembrane fractions illumin-ated (2000lEÆm )2 Æs )1 ) for various periods at 4C. Measurement of Serum Bilirubin The terms direct- and indirect-reacting bilirubin are based on the original van den Bergh reaction. This assay, or a variation of it, is still used in most clinical chemistry laboratories to determine the serum bilirubin level. In this assay, bilirubin is exposed to diazotized sulfanilic acid, splitting into two relatively stable dipyrrylmethene azopigments that absorb maximally at 540 nm, allowing for photometric analysis. The direct fraction is that which reacts with diazotized sulfanilic acid in the absence of an accelerator substance such as alcohol.
