Mechanical defibrillation

In this study, a strategy was adopted to enhance the use of ramie fibers as raw material for isolation of cellulose nanofibers (CNFs). Ramie pulp was produced by alkaline organosolv followed by bleaching. CNFs were produced by mechanical defibrillation, and films were fabricated via casting.

A hybrid catalyst was prepared using cellulose nanofibrils and magnetite to degrade organic compounds. Cellulose nanofibrils were isolated by mechanical defibrillation producing a suspension used as a matrix for magnetite particles.

The "Sanjiao" is a large Fu organ containing all the internal organs, and also used to locate the body parts. The physiological functions of Sanjiao control the activities of the Qi of the human body. Triple Energizer is a collective name of the upper, middle and lower Jiao (energizer) :the upper Jiao is that the portion of the body cavity above the diaphragm which houses the heart and the lung. The middle Jiao is the portion between the diaphragm and umbilicus which houses the spleen and the stomach.

Considering the high probability of the existence of the postshock excitable tunnel even for above-DFT shocks, defibrillation success may be explained by the fact that initiating PAs, originating within the wall, cannot find an excitable exit onto the epicardium and die out in the mid-myocardium. Obtaining such insight into the mechanisms of defibrillation would have been impossible with the use of experimentation alone.

I first want to thank my collaborator, Collins Hemingway, for his help in synthesizing and developing the material in this book and for his overall management of this project. The tunnel propagation hypothesis, as part of the set of mechanisms operating during defibrillation, is expected to shed light on possible strategies for lowering DFT as well as for developing new defibrillation devices.
