After oral administration, probiotic lactobacilli meet a number of protection systems in the human body, such as exposure to gastric, pancreatic, and small intestinal juices. Overcoming these detrimental barriers allows living bacteria to adhere to the intestinal epithelium and permanently colonize the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), providing health benefits to the host. Based on this, the transit tolerance of 25 candidate probiotic lactobacilli from katak, yoghurt, and white-brined and yellow cheese to simulated bile and small intestinal juices of variable pH was investigated.

In particular, the level of disclosure of economic information reached the highest rate of 41% whereas the levels of disclosure of environmental and social issues were only 21% and 38% respectively. This investigation has been done on the basis of qualitative and quantitative data collected from primary sources and explored the differential perception of extent of usefulness of development programmes of the tribal agricultural labourers. The greatest number of respondents with high level of perception was observed in Kurichiya community. The Paniya community lie in between the Kattunaikan and Kurichiya community in their level of perception. The high level of perception is owed to their better mass media exposure, awareness about the developmental programmes and political orientation.

The research study was conducted during the year 2015 to study relationship between the personal, socio-economic and psychological characteristics and livelihood security of the tribal farmers in high altitude tribal zone of Karnataka state. The study revealed that education, land holding, annual income, extension contact, mass media exposure, social participation, economic orientation, risk orientation and level of aspiration had shown positively significant relationship and fatalism had shown negatively significant relationship with livelihood security of tribal farmers.

The study showed that the majority of the farmers were middle aged (36 to 56 years). More than fifty per cent farmers had education up to high school level and had medium farming experiences. The study concludes that more than fifty percent (62.50%) respondents had medium level of knowledge while only 19.17% falls in the category of high level of knowledge about recommended Brinjal production of technology. The present study was conducted to investigate the profile characteristics of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) beneficiaries of district Jabalpur (M.P.). One hundred and twenty beneficiaries from Majholi and Jabalpur blocks were selected on the basis of availability of highest beneficiaries of the PMKSY scheme. The study revealed that higher percentage of PMKSY beneficiaries were middle aged, educated up to high school, had medium size of land holding. A study on Socio economic profile of the grape growers in district Ganderbal was carried out during 2017-18. By proportionate allocation method, 120 respondents were selected from 6 villages of Lar block. The data was elicited through personal interview method. The findings of this study revealed that the majority of the respondents were found illiterate in middle age group with annual income of Rs 2 lakh and land holding up to 10 kanals (1 kanal = 1/20th hectare).

The present study was conducted mainly with the objective to study the relationship between personal profile and management orientation of gerbera growers. For the study, Osmanabad, Nanded and Latur district was selected purposively from Marathwada region. As regard with all independent variables viz., age, education, experience in gerbera cultivation, land holding, area under gerbera, annual income, extension contact, mass media exposure, risk orientation, innovativeness and economic motivation had positive and highly significant relationship with their management orientation.

The study was conducted in Mandya and Srirangapatana taluks of Mandya district of Karnataka state to know the attitude level of trained farm women on value added products of ragi. The data were collected from a sample of 120 trained farm women. The study revealed that, 41.70 per cent of respondents fall under more favourable attitude category, followed by 30.80 and 27.50 per cent of respondents fall under less favourable and favourable attitude category, respectively.

In the present study, exposure assessment of Bacillus cereus associated with the consumption of street vended chicken briyani sold in Koduvalli village, Ellapuram block, Thiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu was assessed. Enumeration of B. cereus in chicken briyani was carried out using Hichrome Bacillus Agar, a chromogenic media by adopting pour plate technique. Data on frequency of consumption of chicken biryani by the residents were collected using a structured questionnaire. The results revealed that the Bacillus cereus count in street vended chicken briyani was ranged between 2.32 to 5.

The present study was conducted in Adilabad district of Telangana to study the profile and employment generation of tribal farmers. Total 120 respondents were randomly selected for the study and interviewed. Most of the (44.10 %) respondents belonged to medium category followed by low (39.20%) and high (16.70%) income generation. The results of the investigation it was found that farm size, training received, credit orientation, achievement motivation, social support, extension contact and mass media exposure had a positive and significant correlation with the income generation.

The study was conducted in purposively selected districts i.e. Fatehabad and Sirsa of Haryana, during 2014-15. Two blocks from each districts and one village from each selected blocks were selected and a proportionate sample of 60 male and 60 female respondents were selected randomly from the selected villages. The pre-exposure knowledge about recommended practices in cotton cultivation was assessed and respondents were exposed to the prepared and standardized media and the gain in knowledge after media exposure was tested.
