Pathogenecity of entomopathogenic fungi, Beauveria bassiana isolates (Bb111, Bb112, Bb 113 and Bb 114) were assessed against spotted pod borer, Maruca vitrata (Geyer). Bioassays were performed in five different pulse hosts viz., lablab, cowpea, green gram, black gram and pigeonpea against third, fourth and fifth instar larvae of spotted pod borer. Efficacy of Bb 112 was higher irrespective of the pulses tested. The median lethal concentrations of Bb 112 for third, fourth and fifth instar larvae on different pulses viz.

The present in vitro studies on bio-efficacy of granular, oil based and wettable powder formulations on various sucking pests were carried out at Entomology laboratory, Institute of Organic Farming (IOF), University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. Among different formulations evaluated viz., rice bran oil (60 %) + corn oil (40%) formulation found least LC50 value against corn aphids (0.182 x106 cfu / ml), grape vine mealy bug (0.560 x 106 cfu / ml), cotton thrips (0.591 x 106 cfu / ml), and guava whitefly (0.942 x 106 cfu / ml). The olive oil formulation recorded least LC50 value 0.

The present study aimed at verifying the usefulness of dietary 2.5% bee-pollen (BP) or propolis (PROP) to overcome the genotoxic and endocrine disruptive effects of malathion polluted water in Oreochromis niloticus (O. niloticus). The acute toxicity test was conducted in O. niloticus in various concentrations (0–8 ppm); mortality rate was assessed daily for 96 h. The 96 h-LC50 was 5 ppm and therefore 1/5 of the median lethal concentration (1 ppm) was used for chronic toxicity assessment.

There is lack of information regarding; the toxicological and pathological consequences of phenol stressed Clarias gariepinus; as well as; the susceptibility of the stressed fish to disease occurrence. Static renewal bioassay was experimentally conducted to evaluate the toxic effects of phenol on the African catfish C. gariepinus. Ninety-six-hour acute toxicity tests revealed that the median lethal concentration of phenol (LC50) is 35 mg/L by immersion.
