Mesenchymal stem cells are currently a research focus because of the possibility of cartilage regeneration through several mechanisms, including mesenchymal stem cell sheets. However, there are no published reports visualizing cartilage in three dimensions. Here, we report a case of improved cartilage volume.

Presacral myelolipomas form a rare disease and are often found incidentally in imaging diagnostics. Case presentation In this study, we report the case of a 71-year-old caucasian female with an incidental finding of a retroperitoneal tumor on magnetic resonance imaging scan. This report aimed at presenting the clinical course of this patient with emphasis on analysis of pathological, clinical, and epidemiological features in a meta-analysis of reported cases.

This paper proposes a new image processing model of the cardiac end-systolic and end-diastolic phase considered using image processing methods and for the segmentation of time series of medical images. This type of model is a unique design, since few attempt have been made to analyze the systolic heart interactions and diastolic relaxation using image processing methods.

Many medical imaging techniques utilize fitting approaches for quantitative parameter estimation and analysis. Common examples are pharmacokinetic modeling in dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)/computed tomography (CT), apparent diffusion coefficient calculations and intravoxel incoherent motion modeling in diffusion-weighted MRI and Z-spectra analysis in chemical exchange saturation transfer MRI.

This study aimed to determine the effect of different ozone concentrations applied with different exposure times on the chemical composition and the surface morphology of enamel. Twenty human mandibular molars were divided into four groups according to ozone concentration and exposure times. Group A received 90 lg of ozone/ml oxygen for 1 min, group B received 90 lg of ozone/ml oxygen for 2 min, group C received 120 lg of ozone/ml oxygen for 1 min and group D received 120 lg of ozone/ml oxygen for 2 min.

This paper presents the design of the generalized Double Humped (DH) logistic map, used for pseudorandom number key generation (PRNG). The generalized parameter added to the map provides more control on the map chaotic range. A new special map with a zooming effect of the bifurcation diagram is obtained by manipulating the generalization parameter value. The dynamic behavior of the generalized map is analyzed, including the study of the fixed points and stability ranges, Lyapunov exponent, and the complete bifurcation diagram.

Dental X-ray image segmentation is a necessary and important process in medical diagnosis, which assists clinicians to make decisions about possible dental diseases of a patient from a dental X-ray image. It is a multi-objective optimization problem which involves basic components of fuzzy clustering, spatial structures of a dental image, and additional information of experts expressed through a pre-defined membership matrix.
