An exploratory research is conducted to examine the current situation and factors related to the mental health of students. A cross-sectional study was carried out on 295 students at a high school in Hanoi in 2023. This research, which employed the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire 25 items toolkit with a cut-off point of 15, revealed that a significant percentage of students have general mental health problems. Emotional symptoms account for the largest percentage of students, followed by prosocial behaviour, peer problems, conduct problems, and hyperactivity.

There is a high risk that young children who show early signs of mental health problems develop symptoms in the same or overlapping areas some years later. The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) is widely used to screen externalizing and internalizing problems early in life.

The use of screening instruments can reduce waiting lists and increase treatment capacity. The aim of this study was to examine the usefulness of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) with the original UK scoring algorithms, when used as a screening instrument to detect mental health disorders among patients in the Norwegian Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) North Study.

Adolescence has been documented as the peak age of onset for mental health perturbations, clinical disorders and unsubstantiated health complaints. The present study attempted to investigate associations between multiple, recurrent subjective health complaints (SHC) with emotional/behavioural difficulties, as measured by the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire scale (SDQ), among Greek adolescents.

The present study assessed the ability of the parent and youth scales of the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) to predict mental health problems/disorders across several mental health domains as validated against two contrasting indices of validity for psychopathology derived from the Development and Well Being Assessment (DAWBA): (1) an empirically derived computer algorithm and (2) expert based ICD-10 diagnoses.

Discrepancies are often found between child and parent reports of child psychopathology, nevertheless the role of the child’s presenting difficulties in relation to these is underexplored. This study investigates whether parent–child agreement on the conduct and emotional scales of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) varied as a result of certain child characteristics, including the child’s presenting problems to clinical services, age and gender.

The majority of existing transition planning programs are focused on people with a disability in general and may not meet the specific need of adolescents on the autism spectrum. In addition, these interventions focus on specific skills (e.g. job readiness or self-determination) rather than the overall transition planning process and there are methodological limitations to many of the studies determining their efectiveness.

Hall of Fame golfer Ben Hogan once remarked that golf is 100 percent mental and 100 percent physical, and the two factions of golf cannot and should not be separated. I agree. By its very nature, golf is both physical and mental. It also has a strong emotional component that makes it the toughest and greatest game ever created. On the professional golf tours, what separates winning golfers is the strength of their mental game and emotional resiliency.

Several years ago someone told me that once you hit thirty-five you have to work harder just to keep playing golf at the same level. I want to play until I’m fifty-five, and I don’t want to be one of those guys just barely clinging to the PGA Tour. I want to keep getting better and I want to win. So when I turned thirty-five, I hired Boris Kuzmic as my personal trainer and started working out. I liked Boris’s background as both a professional golfer and fitness expert, and with the workout plan he designed for me, my torso strength and flexibility improved and my clubhead speed increased,..

Even when prohibited people are flagged by the system, they’re almost never stopped. In 2010, out of 76,000 denied purchasers, only 13 were successfully prosecuted under federal law for illegally attempting to buy a gun. That universal failure endangers us all! The mentally ill are also not part of their universe. For the last 20 years, since the NICS system came on line, government has failed to include records of those judged mentally ill by a court of law. If we can’t even get those records into the system, are we truly to believe...

Primary care clinicians often provide continuity of care, emphasize prevention, and address chronic illness with their patients. All these endeavors require the active involvement of the patient in treatment planning and adherence. An active and healthy therapeutic alliance that recognizes that patients are the chief consumers of health care is essential in this regard. This critical role in directing one’s health care can be either facilitated or complicated by a patient’s emotional, cognitive, and behavioral strengths or weaknesses (ie, mental health).

The delivery of mental health services to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families involves a complex interweaving of skills that straddle disciplines and test boundaries. Provision of such services is a testament to the strength of practitioners who struggle to balance the necessary knowledge base, application strategies, and self-awareness required by the work.

Overall, the strength of evidence for specific design features in these interventions was low or insufficient. This is attributable, in large part, to differences in the types of interventions and, subsequently, in the mix of results. Looking closely within categories of design features, however, the following specific design features seemed to improve comprehension for low-health-literacy populations in one or a few studies: (1) presenting essential information by itself (i.e.
