In this study an optimal weather routing model (OWR) considers the meteorological and oceanographic information, ship’s characteristics combined with adaptive Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm will be proposed and applied for ship’ navigation. The simulation results will be presented to show the effectiveness as well as the reliability of this model. The OWR will make it possible for safe navigation, effective operation, energy efficiency and reduce emission from vessel.

The system is designed with two servers connected in a cluster, so it has high stability. Alerts are delivered to users quickly using push notification technology, suitable for personal computers and iOS and Android mobile devices. The system is in line with the trend of Vietnamese people using mobile devices to monitor weather information today. The aim of this study is to compare the bioclimatic comfort conditions of Uşak city between 1990 and 2018. In the first stage, the bioclimatic comfort conditions of the city centre between 1990 and 2018 were determined according to the Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) index obtained from the RayMan model by using hourly data of the meteorological station in the city centre; air temperature (°C), relative humidity (%), wind velocity(m/s) and cloudiness (octa).

Wind energy potentials of some selected high altitude and coastal areas in Nigeria are assessed for possible utilization for the generation of electricity. The main aim is to provide pragmatic insight that will enhance the investment in wind energy conversion systems in an optimal manner. The data used in this present study were obtained from the Nigeria Meteorological Agency, which includes average wind speeds per day of four locations across the country, measured at the anemometer height of 10 m over a period of 11 years.

The flow regime information from 1961 to 2016 was obtained from the Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Administration. The hydrological alteration was quantified by using IHA (Indicators of Hydrologic Alteration). The Kruskal – Wallis test was applied to examine the changes of hydrological regime between pre- and post- dam period. The results showed that 4 groups of IHA had significant change and one group had no significant difference in preand post-dam period.

Under normal atmospheric conditions, warm air in the vicinity of a large city is trapped by an overlayer of cool air. Since warm gases tend to rise, they normally diffuse upward and disperse the smog and other pollutants. A thermal inversion occurs when the upper layer is a layer of warm air, while the polluted air near the ground is relatively cool. In such a situation, the pollutant-laden cool air cannot rise and disperse.
