This study would like to point out the potential compounds as inflammatory agents. Herein, we displayed the isolation and structural identification of thirteen compounds including ten flavonoids, one tannin, one triterpenoid, and one derivative of benzoic acid from the methanolic extract. Furthermore, all of them were evaluated the anti-inflammatory activity.

Herein, a performance analysis of La-doped copper-based catalysts (CuO/ZrO2 /La-Al2 O3 ) in methanol steam reforming (MSR) was conducted and compared with a commercial low temperature water-gas shift catalyst (HiFUEL W220) to produce H2 with low CO selectivity. The physicochemical properties of as-obtained catalysts were characterized by N2 adsorption, XRD, and ICP-OES. Effect of calcination temperature (750 ℃ and 1000 ℃) on the properties of mixed oxide support (La-Al2 O3 ) were discussed based on catalytic activity.

NH acidities of some 3-(p-substitutedphenyl)-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5(4H) -ones and 4-(p-substitutedphenyl)-1,2 λ43,5-oxathiadiazole 2-oxides were determined in methanol by means of potentiometric titration with sodium methoxide. pKa values of the title compounds calculated from the potentiometric data were interpreted on the basis of structural effects caused by para-substituted groups on the phenyl ring by plotting pKa values versus Hammett σ + p constants, which gave excellent linear correlations.

The power density of direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) can be changed by using different anode materials. Especially porous materials are preferred for the anode. In the present study, multiwall carbon nanotubes were first injected into graphite. Then, by depositing nickel, a catalyst was prepared for use as the anode material of the DMFC. This catalyst was named Ni@MWNTs. The oxidation of methanol and some kinetic parameters were investigated in KOH solution.

Cyclic voltammetry (CV) was performed on tamoxifen (tam) using different electrodes and in various acidic electrolytes containing 10% v v−1 methanol (MeOH). Tam oxidation was found to be most favorable using 0.1 mol L−1 H2SO4. To investigate the mechanism, we performed chronoamperometry, CV at different scan rates, differential pulse anodic voltammetry (DPAV), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy on tam-covered glassy carbon electrodes (GCEs). A robust synthesis of iridium oxide (IrO2) nanoclusters using methanol as a reducing agent via the chemical reduction method is reported in this article. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and polyoxyethylene(23) lauryl ether (POLE) were used as stabilizers. The formation of IrO2 nanoclusters was confirmed by the appearance of new absorption peak at 230 nm in UV-vis spectra. XRD and TEM were used to determine the degree of crystallinity and size of nanoclusters, respectively.

The results of cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry showed that the electrocatalytic activity and stability of Ni(II)/CSs were higher than that of unloaded NiAc under alkaline environment. When the nickel content was 5 wt.%, the peak oxidation current density of methanol on Ni(II)/CSs electrocatalyst reached the maximum of 34.54 mA/cm2 , which was about 1.8 times that of unloaded NiAc. These results indicate that Ni(II)/CSs has potential applications in the electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol.

Catalytic behaviors of bimetallic catalysts-alloys of zirconium with vanadium, molybdenum, and iron was investigated in the oxidative dehydrogenation of methanol. The conditions for the formation of the catalyst’s active surface were revealed. The conversion of methanol into formaldehyde, dimethyl ether, and dimethoxymethane on bimetallic catalysts was studied. The characterization of catalysts was performed by XRD, XPS, and SEM.

This study aimed to investigate the anti-inflammatory effects of the methanol extracts of A. maximum (AMM) and A. muricarpum Elmer (AMC) in murine macrophage RAW 264.7 cell line. The total extracts showed that the extracts exhibited low cytotoxicity and potent anti-inflammatory activities by suppressing excessive nitric oxide (NO). The IC50 values of AMC and AMM were found to be 12.67 ± 1.7 µg/mL and 42.7 ± 2.5 µg/mL, respectively.

Methanol oxidizing organisms not only reduce atmospheric methanol concentration but also play a major role in enhancing methane oxidation through cross-feeding in synergism with methanotrophs. Possession of plant growth promoting (PGP) attributes in methanol oxidizing bacteria will prove to be a worthy candidate for developing novel biofertilizers having dual ability of plant growth promotion and reducing methane emission to a certain extent.
