Graduation thesis "The application of autonomous lexical learning of first-year non-English major - A case study at Hai Phong University of Management and Technology" aims to help the first-year non-English major students understand the importance of vocabulary learning and its relationship to listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The article then goes deep into the investigation of the main method for non-major students at HPU to learn the language. This aim of this study is to measure the technical efficiency score and identify the factors that affect the technical efficiency in plastic manufacturing firm in Malaysia for the year 2015 using the two stage Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. The first stage involves calculating the efficiency score through the DEA using firm-level data, provided by the Department of Statistics, Malaysia. In the second stage, Tobit Regression Analysis was used to identify the significant factors affecting the efficiency of the plastic industry.

This research presents a method for the identification of hazardous situations on the freeways as well as the hazard mitigation system based on the identification. The hazard identification is done using a crash risk probability model and based on the identification, mitigation strategy is employed to reduce the effect of the hazard. For this study, about 18 km long section of Eastern Freeway in Melbourne, Australia is selected as a test bed.

This research explores an alternative method for the delivery of therapeutic compounds to the body. The basis of the study involves the application of traditional medicinal compounds used to cure minor neck and back pains through transdermal topical application, using a textile substrate as the carrier.

The aim of this thesis was to investigate and characterise the effect on electron dosimetry that localising different forms of bolus, both approximately tissue equivalent and non tissue equivalent, in a non conventional, although reproducible locations, (ie not on the phantom surface). A series of experiments were derived to compare the differences in beam characteristics between the recognised conventional method of locating bolus on the surface to that of bolus supported by the Low Melting point Attenuator (LMA) Electron insert.

The main focus of this thesis is on the application of a model predictive control (MPC) method to devise an ABS for a BBW vehicle. Unlike the traditional ABS control algorithms which are based on a trial and error method, the MPC based ABS algorithm aims to utilizes the behaviour of the model to optimize the wheel slip dynamics subject to system constraints. Performance of the proposed wheel slip controller is validated through Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) and Hardware-inthe-Loop (HiL) simulation.

The thesis is structured as follows: Chapter 1 reviews the literature and outlines the importance of blood, clinical use of blood, current methods of blood collection including alternative methods and the benefits of DBS. Chapter 2 summaries the overall methods used in the project. Chapter 3 explains the utility of hemaPEN® from both the collection and analytical perspective. Chapter 4 expands on the HCT bias associated with standard DBS method. Chapter 5 expands on the use of DBS in other fields such as genomic and epigenomics.

Once the mechanical properties of printed TPU are characterised, a novel, low cost, and environmentally friendly method for concrete casting using printed TPU moulds is proposed in this thesis. Additively manufactured TPU mould is developed to cast complex concrete structures. A planar topologically optimized cantilever and a free-form 3D column are cast using the proposed TPU mould. Good surface quality is obtained for the cast concrete elements, and the moulds can be reused many times after cleaning.

The aim of this project was to design, fabricate and characterise multifunctional structural composites incorporating phase change materials for thermal management applications. This research has two main contributions to current knowledge. The first one is its definition of economic impacts of bridge damage in a flood event. The second one is its application of existing knowledge and models to measure the majority of these economic impacts. Future research can focus on understanding the relations between damage states, repair methods, and repair quantities. Also, future research can make a contribution to knowledge of measuring losing trust on authorities.
