India has a wide range of agro-climates regions and soil types. The highly diverse agriculture systems are beset with different types of weed problem. Weeds cause 10- 80% crop yield losses besides deteriorating quality of products and causing health and environmental hazards. Traditionally, weed control has been largely dependent on manual weeding.

The present field experiment was conducted to scrutinize the options available for chemical weed management in irrigated linseed at Agricultural Research Farm, Powerkheda, Madhya Pradesh during two consecutive Rabi seasons of 2017 and 2018. The findings of the study reveal that, in linseed crop sown under irrigated condition, pre- emergence application of pendimethalin @ 1 kg/ha fb application of metsulfuron methyl @ 4g/ha g responded well in terms of effective weed control and obtaining higher yield. Also, Maximum Net return of Rs.40939/ha with B:C ratio 2.

An field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2017 and Rabi season of 2018 to study the effect of crop establishment methods viz., System of Rice intensification, Machine planting, Conventional method of transplanting and weed control practices ay application of pre emergence herbicide (Metsulfuron Methyl 10 % - Chlorimuron Ethyl 10 % )10 and 20 g ha-1 and, Butachlor10 g ha-1 and 2.5 lit per ha-1 + three mechanized weeding at 25,35,45 DAT ,hand weeding on 20 DAT, four mechanized weeding at 15,25,35,45 DAT and hand weeding twice at 20 and 40 DAT.

A field experiment was conducted during kharif 2012 to evaluate the efficacy of different pre and post emergence herbicides in direct seeded rice. The chemical treatments included two pre-emergence herbicides namely pendimethalin 1000 g/ha and oxadiargyl 100 g/ha and four post-emergence herbicides viz. bispyribac-sodium 25 g/ha, fenoxaprop 67 g/ha, ethoxysulfuron 18.75 g/ha and chlorimuron-ethyl +metsulfuron-methyl RM 4 g/ha at 25 DAS. Weed free and weedy check were also included.

The production and productivity of finger millet in the country is lower because of weeds pose one of the major constraints there were thirteen treatments which comprised single application of different post-emergence herbicides either alone or in combination and hand weeding was conducted on Clayey Vertisols soil of College of Agriculture, Raipur during kharif season of 2012. There was no phytotoxicity in finger millet with application of ethoxysulfuron and metsulfuron methyl + chlorimuron ethyl alone.

A field experiment was conducted during winter 2016-17 and 2017-18 at Agronomy research farm, Jobner, Rajasthan to evaluate the weed growth, nutrient removal, weed control efficiency, yield and nutrient uptake by wheat [Triticum aestivum (L.) emend Fiori & Paol] as influenced by nitrogen levels (0, 45, 90 and 135 kg/ha) and weed control methods (weedy check, once HW at 25 DAS, two HW at 25 & 45 DAS, 2,4-D ester @ 0.5 kg/ha, metsulfuron methyl @ 4 g/ha, sulfosulfuron 75%+ metsulfuron methyl 5 WG @ 40 g/ha and mesosulfuron 3%+ iodosulfuron 0.6% @ 14.4 g/ha).
