The main objective of this study is to investigate the potentiality of cellulase producing isolates, Bacillus licheniformis 1-1v and Bacillus sonorensis 7-1v, as microbial additives on composting of rice straw materials. Different pyramid shape piles were constructed, and each contained 80 kg of rice straw and 288 kg of cattle manure, with/without 5 kg of feldspar supplementation (0.75%, w/w). C/N ratio was adjusted to 35.8 before microbial inoculation.

Biofertilizer is immobile, an unclear term. It can simply be established that biofertilizers are identified as plant extracts, composted municipal waste, and various microbial mixtures with unidentified components and chemical fertilizer formulations supplemented with organic compounds. Likewise, the scientific literature has a very open interpretation of the term biofertilizer, on behalf of everything from fertilizers to plant extracts.

A new formulation of effervescent tablets containing microbial consortium was prepared for tomato with an objective to improve its survival and effectiveness. Three agriculturally beneficial microorganisms viz. Azotobacter chroococcum, Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus megaterium were used in consortium. Tablets were prepared using wet granulation method using talc or compost as diluent. Effectiveness of these inoculants formulations was studied in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) in a greenhouse.

A field experiment was carried out at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat (Assam) in direct seeded rice (DSR) during autumn, 2018. The treatments consisted of three Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) inoculations viz., Bacillus cereus, Pseudomonas fluorescens and no inoculation and four weed management practices viz., pretilachlor pre-emergence @ 0.75 kg/ha, pretilachlor pre- emergence @ 0.75 kg/ha followed by one hand weeding at 30 DAS, three hand weedings at 15, 30 & 45 DAS and weedy check.

The present investigation was carried out during summer season of 2014-15 on Research farm, Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani to evaluate the effect of different zinc solubilizing microbial cultures on nutrient content and uptake of soybean grown on Vertisol. Results revealed that highest Nutrient content and uptake was increased with the inoculation of microbial cultures as compared to uninoculated control and highest Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn uptake was found with the treatment RDF + Rhizobium + Trichoderma viride.

Vermicompost is an organic fertilizer which converts waste to wealth in a safe and healthy way as it is produced by biopotential of earthworm. It contains plant growth hormones, enzymes, microbial population, and free of harmful pathogens. Application of such a microbiologically active organic substrate may have important effects on the microbial properties of the media. A study was conducted to find out the effect of organic manures in combination with microbial bio inoculants on the growth, plant height, wet weight, dry weight, and yield of coriander.

A field experiment was conducted to assess the combined effect of bioinoculants on nutrient uptake, forskolin content (diterpene) and tuber yield of Coleus forskohlii (cutivar; K-8). The microbial inoculants such as Azotobacter chroococcum, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Glomus fasciculatum (VAM) were used. Bioagents such as Trichoderma harzianum and Pseudomonas fluorescens were used. Bioinoculants were examined along with graded levels of recommended dose of N and P2O5 with 100% K2O fertilizers. Nutrient uptake showed significant difference among the treatments.

An experiment was conducted in cemented pot in “screen house” of the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur during Rabi season 2011-2012, to assess the response of inoculation of rhizobium and application of different doses of iron on nutrient uptake in chickpea. Treatments consisted four levels of iron i.e. 0, 2.5, 5.0 and 7.5 ppm and two levels of microbial inoculation i.e. un-inoculation and inoculation of rhizobium. The treatments were replicated four times in completely randomized design (factorial).

Sustainable agriculture has become a burning issue due to “energy crisis” and “environmental protection”. One aspect of sustainable agriculture is Integrated Nutrient Management (INM). Many regions in India like Kashmir, Himachal and other hilly regions have huge potential for quality flower production. Since floriculture is energy and cost intensive type of farming, the input cost of fertilisers is very high, which can be avoided by going for alternative methods like INM.
