Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is the leading cause of health concerns among Ethiopian migrant workers. Understanding risk perception and health-protective behavior are significant challenges in the prevention and eradication of the disease. As a result, studies are required to assess these important epidemiological factors, which will provide guidance on how to assist migrant workers in taking preventive measures against VL.

This paper investigates the health screening procedure of Burmese migrants in Thailand. Since ethnography is very useful for social research, the investigator of this study employed an ethnographic perceptive, in which the dual roles of the ethnographer are used to develop an understanding of what it is like to live in a particular setting: the investigator must both become a part of the lives of the participants of the study while also maintaining the role of an observer.

The research outcomes reveal the most frequently-visited places among young migrant workers. It is noticeable that they do not go there very often. The main reason for this fact is that they do not have enough time or money. In addition, there is a lack of good-quality public space near their homes and their understanding of the importance of public space remains incomplete. This study also suggests that how those public buildings could be created for those workers to attend public activities. Then social connections will be cemented.

To link migration with economic growth, they set annual quotas by sector for the number of new migrant workers. They attempt to provide protection to migrant workers by ensuring equality with national workers in labour standards, providing postarrival orientation, and by requiring health and accident insurance.

Journalists are often ill equipped to meet the information needs of special populations during health-related emergencies. They also may not see it as their job or role to communicate directly with these audiences. Special populations include elderly people, disabled people, homeless people, housebound populations, racial and cultural minorities, linguistic minorities, illiterate populations, transient populations (for example, tourists, business travellers and migrant workers) and institutionalized populations.

However, the literature on brain drain (Mountford 1997; Stark et al 1997, 1998; Vidal 1998; Beine, Docquier and Rapoport 2001, 2008) argues that workers in the home country make their educational choices taking into account the return to education in the receiving country and their migration prospects. We study the selectivity of migrants when agents make joint decisions about how much to invest in education and whether to migrate.

implement a comprehensive package of interventions to meet the needs of vulnerable populations. Each country should identify populations vulnerable to HIV or underserved by current HIV programmes in both generalized and concentrated epidemics. The needs of young people and women should explicitly be addressed in national HIV responses. Particular attention should be given to expanding comprehensive combination HIV prevention programmes in communities with generalized epidemics.
